Do you all recommend Flo (I assume Canadians can access it, if not this is a moot post). Or should i just wait for whatever Stanford matches happen to be posted on youtube? If you're fine with the cost, yes I recommend. It gives you access to a lot of good volleyball and interviews, articles, etc. you can watch pro ball on it which is nice

Yes she is a beach player. And a HUGE recruit. She is extremely good. Lives in Hermosa Beach ... that's all you need to know

Yesterday I got a monthly subscription for $30/month. Better deal than the cost of flying across the country to Charleston. Both weekend matches are scheduled to be shown on Flo. I assume anyone in the free world can access their website but I don't know that for sure. I'll post tomorrow what I think about the live-streamed match. Of course almost every Stanford match ends up on Youtube one way or another.

The announcer for the C of C match said Stanford is going to hang around Charleston for a day or two. I suppose the Florida match is uncertain to be played or not.
Edit; Friday evening:
"Gov. Ron DeSantis urged Floridians to “make preparations" for a seven-day power outage after issuing a state of emergency for all 67 counties as Hurricane Dorian gains strength on its path toward Florida."
This match is not going to happen. Call it off now and let Stanford make plans accordingly.

Aww, very nice article. Thanks for sharing. I am glad it all worked out for Gates and Stanford already benefited to have her on the court.

Florida is playing in Louisville now so maybe they can find a neutral court

Their last update showed a higher chance of the storm turning north before hitting the Florida coast. Next update is 8pm PDT.

Looking like there is a better chance of playing Florida on Wednesday according to Kevin since Dorian is not likely to make landfall in the state. They will wait until tomorrow to make a determination.

Hurricane now predicted to head north. It looks about 50/50 at the moment of the match happening. Thus far Florida is looking beatable. That could change on their home court. Probably won't be many people in the gym if the match is played.

Glad to see that Santa Clara are doing well, starting the season with 4-0 and had some good wins.
Congrats on Coach Lindsey!

While Stanford fans are waiting for hurricane info, I will go off on a tangent after watching the UCLA/Nebraska match.
Ever since one of my kids went to UCLA I’ve had an interest in their WVB team. It has to be a killer Gates transferred out. She had a good first weekend with Stanford…no hitting errors on 27 attempts hitting .593 with a new setter.
UCLA had some bad breaks with their starting setter and best MB leaving. Even so they should be reloading every year. UCLA is in the center of the SoCal hotbed for prep volleyball. Beautiful campus on the trendy west side of LA. It should be a slam dunk to bring in elite local players. Their best player by far is from Iowa.
The first year they hired Kaitlin (Sather) Nielsen, I noticed she stood around at club tournaments and didn’t talk to anyone. I recall thinking at the time that’s not the right personality for a recruiter. It’s not enough to stand around and look beautiful. You need to mix it up with parents and club coaches. I noticed UCLA has removed Nielson from all their list of coaching staff web pages. What’s up with that?
In any event I wish Sealy and UCLA luck, hope they find a way to a winning season, and make the NCAA tournament.
