I'm in the Hilton Head area now. We have a mandatory evacuation order tomorrow noon. My plan is to drive to Valdosta, Georgia and stay there Tuesday night. I will drive to Gainesville on Wednesday morning. Of course these plans change if the match with Florida is cancelled.

The first year they hired Kaitlin (Sather) Nielsen, I noticed she stood around at club tournaments and didn’t talk to anyone. I recall thinking at the time that’s not the right personality for a recruiter. It’s not enough to stand around and look beautiful. You need to mix it up with parents and club coaches. I noticed UCLA has removed Nielson from all their list of coaching staff web pages. What’s up with that? UCLA fired Nielsen after last season. She is now an assistant coach at the University of Kansas.

Couldn’t agree more. Stanford got really lucky with Gates.

One hour ago Florida WVB twitter posted a link to the ticket office. Don't know if that means a definite go for the match?

UCLA ... should be reloading every year. UCLA is in the center of the SoCal hotbed for prep volleyball. Beautiful campus on the trendy west side of LA. It should be a slam dunk to bring in elite local players. Their best player by far is from Iowa. In any event I wish Sealy and UCLA luck, hope they find a way to a winning season, and make the NCAA tournament. As a UCLA fan, I'll take some pain this year to avoid greater pain for years on end in the future. I want UCLA to miss the tourney, and win one game less than the number Sealy needs to keep his job. UCLA softball is successful year after year because SoCal is the center of west coast softball, and choosing UCLA means the families get to watch their daughter play at home. UCLA volleyball should be the same, but it isn't. Sealy has no leadership qualities, and worse, several have posted on this forum that they tend to simply not like him as a person. He can't coach up a setter to save his life (or job, as it were). Simply time to go.

Very late with this, but I applied bluepenguin's "black ink rankings"* to the Cardinal and White scrimmage teams. White had 44 points, and Cardinal had 81, which is better than every other team except Wisconsin (92).
*Based on PV Aces, NCAA All-America, All-Conf teams, and UA All-America.

Maybe it's just me but I don't think Formico or any of our current DS will be good enough to take the libero spot next season.
I'm pinning my hopes on Oglivie.

It's definitely interesting that Hentz, McKenna, and Oglivie all spent significant time on the OH position in club/HS. I think Oglivie is a baller and would make a great OH2 at a school, but I think she has all the tools to be a pretty good Libero. Plus I feel like Hawaii recruits are always ballers in the back row haha

OH and MB are our deepest positions for the next 2 years. I too don't see formico being a libero for a top team in the country, I sure hope oglivie is ready to ball out

Tossing out another option, maybe McClure could transition to L? Obviously that is pending on the level of play from Kipp(OH/OPP), Fidelak(OPP) and the two current OH freshman; Baird and Berty.
