Usually my least favorite come from my wife's family, because they put no thought into presents.
But this year, My family wins. Niece (my sister's daughter), we got in a hand painted frame...
a picture of her unborn child. A copy of the ultrasound picture in 5x7 format.
What am I supposed to do with that? Where is the appropriate place for a picture like that?

They mean so much to them that they just can't comprehend other people might not think the same way. Just smile, say the nice words, and toss it in a drawer somewhere.

Because it's my grandbaby, I was kind of excited, but my sons were pretty grossed out by the whole thing. It's in my nightstand drawer, not for public display. My mother-in-law gave my husband a wooden, decorative mushroom to put in our front yard . It's about the size of an ice cream maker. This is so not like her, so we wonder if she's going a little senile, bless her heart. No way is it going in the front yard, so it is in a planter by the pool in the back yard.

I got a leather check book cover thing. I don't carry a check book. And even if I did, this thing is gigantic. Like, I no longer have a spare bedroom because of this thing.

I'm still trying to deal with the french hens. Reminds me of the classic email joke about woman who receives all 12 gifts.

I think we will leave it there, however, because I hate trying to remember to put stuff out when she comes to town.

Luckily my Niece isn't' coming to my house any time soon, so we don't' have to display the "picture" Not sure what everyone else in the family will do, since everyone got one.
