Finally watched it last night off a tip from a buddy... I was totally caught off guard how good it is, I always thought it was a cheesy spoof of superhero movies but it's actually a lot more telling if there were real superhero's they couldn't possibly be the bloodless do-gooders they are portrayed as.
**SPOILER**
And as apprehensive I was watching an 11 year old violently murdering about 100 people, I have to admit the scene where she's desperately trying to rescue her dad as he burns to death was one of the best movie scenes I've seen in a long time (and the best acting job by Nicolas Cage in quite some time).
Anyways, if y'all haven't seen it I recommend picking it up if you don't mind language and violence, I haven't been that surprised by a movie in a long time and probably the best movie I saw from 2010.

Look up "Seduction of the Innocent" and the "Comics Code" that was implemented as a result. Comics Code compliant titles rarely show red blood. My reading of the original Superman comics were that he had no compunction to kill if he thought it was justified. Of course the character has changed over time.

I really liked the comic, as I'm a huge Mark Millar fan, but was skeptical of how good the film would be as I thought it would be difficult to portray it on the screen...I still thought it would be good but I didn't want to get my hopes up(having Cage in it as Big Daddy only helped my skepticism). So I went to see it upon release and was blown away by how good it was. It was a mix bad of stuff: action, violence, humor, etc. as it was intended and one of the best print to film adaptions I have ever seen. I can't wait for the sequel of both the comic and the film.
