Anyone know the initial seedings for the Elephant Bar tournament? I saw somewhere UCSB was playing USC, which seems a little strange (3 v. 6?) but can't find other match-ups yet.

The E-bar became lame after they stopped inviting all the club teams.

Never saw the tournament when club teams were there. With 8 teams playing their first teams, pretty cool way to see them all play a few times over two days.

Unofficial but ...
CSUN site shows CSUN plays Beach at 1 with the winner playing winner of Stanford UCI. If USC plays UCSB as said above, UCLA should play Pacific.
The above schedule indicates the seeds are: 1. UCI 2. UCLA 3. UCSB 4. CSLB - CSUN or Beach could be 4 or 5 5. CSUN 6. USC 7. Pacific 8. Stanford
The schedule will probably surface next week.

Thanks; I would put CSUN in front of UCSB, but otherwise the seedings look responsible. Lots of testosterone flying around the Thunderdome on Friday.

i would place ucsb near the top with irvine and csun. irvine are still trying to find that 2nd outside to fit into speraw's scheme. csun are strong with high flying rhodes and the dominant james lischer (sp?) in the middle.
ucsb looked very very impressive against irvine at the ucla preseason tournament. patak will be the most dominant offensive threat this year if he can stay healthy.
ucla is very young and have a lot of issues in the middle. don't know what's going on with wade, but if ker is the setter, he is a very good setter with pin point precision to go with a high setting IQ, but his height and lack of jumping ability will be a big liaility.
with that said. i predict either csun, ucsb, or uc irvine to take the tournament. the other squads just don't have enough talent or experience necessary to win this talented tournament.

ucivball,
I heard that UCSB is a dark-horse as well. Patak was throwing down at the UCLA tourney. Hopefully the off-court issues are resolved so we can see a fully loaded SB team this season. UCLA will probably be w/o MB Jamie Dieffenbach for a little bit being that there have been sightings of him on TV on the bench of the UCLA basketball team. Like you, I'm curious as to who will be in the middle for the Bruins.
Nobody has really chimed in at how The Beach is doing in their pre-season (either that or I missed that thread). What about Pepperdine? So many questions...
