I hope the video stream is good. The Big West Conferenced tried it for women's volleyball and it wasn't that great. We were viewing over a T1 connection and still couldn't get a good picture.

It may be better tonight but here is what the NAIA championship match looked like... middlehitter.com/middlehitter/Video/NAIA/NAIA_Championship.htmThis may have been their first webcast. Bandwidth is a problem. The first people to watch usually get a steady stream but later on, new viewers may not even be able to view it. This is the same challenge as CSTV has when it webcast women's volleyball video this fall.

UCI 3, CBU 1 (30-24, 30-23, 27-30,30-25)
UCI started strong but started took the Lancers too easy in games 3 & 4. In games 1 & 2 they only had 9 errors and were "efficient," however in games 3 & 4 they had 9 errors per game (18 total in those 2 games). Jablonsky had 17K, Webber 15 and Freshmen OH, Cole Reinholm had 12K (and hit a scorching .611 w/ only 1 error). Asuka had 16 digs and Smith (MB) had 8 blocks. There are definitely "bugs" that need to be worked out still but I'm confident Coach Speraw will address those things in practice before the E-Bar Tourney.
Thornton had 60 assists and distributed the ball where it needed to go at the right moment. He also had some key blocks tonight to amp up the team. You've got to enjoy watching him run the floor.
Big play of the night was the 6-5 MB Harrell's solo block on the 6-11 Urs Gunther of CBU. Gunther swung with everything he had and Harrell put both of his hands on the ball and with a pike-block and the ball bounced off the block, hit the floor and bounced hard off the floor.
Coach Speraw is still "testing" out the lineups plugging in Reinholm & Wilson in the other OH spot. It appears that it's going to be a game time decision on who will be starting in that other OH position.

overall, i'm a little dissapointed with the way irvine played. someone needs to be the "spittle" on the court and get in people's face. webber, jablonsky, smith, harrell, thornton..they're all good players, but they are definitely not the floor leader and none are visible being the voice of the team on the court. btw, asuka was awesome, digging clinic!
about the game itself. irvine played decent. but lets not take away anything from cal baptist. they'll probably win another naia title. their middles are dominant, and shamsu awudu is unstoppable.
here's a funny/crazy scenario:
during the last game, jablonsky got benched for a few points just to wake him up as it seemed like (at least to me) he wasn't playing with any urgency.
as i have said before, if jon steller comes back (6'8 lefty right side), 6'7 lefty webber would probably go outside with jablonsky. but as it happened yesterday with jablonsky not playing to his best, he got benched. the best player coming off the bench now is lefty cole reinholm.
so in this scenario. reinholm will come in for jablonsky for a few points as the other outside with webber, and steller will be the rightside. ALL THREE ARE LEFTIES with cannons! how crazy is that? i don't know if irvine would be any good with this formation, but 1) it would be fun to watch and i'm sure a nightmare for opposing blockers, 2) i don't think i've seen any team with more than one lefty as a hitter, let alone 3!
question for ROBONTHEMIC. i think of all the people on this forum, you have the closest access to the team. what's the status with steller? on the website press release, there is a little excerp about him coming back. but once again, he was in street clothes last night!
