Every once in a while, as part of my job at The Side-Out Foundation ( www.side-out.org/), I get the opportunity to write about topics other than volleyball, topics that address a broader view of life, including illness and the perspective of a young adult cancer patient. I was inspired by another patient to write the most recent one, "Living in the Moment" ( www.side-out.org/uncategorized/living-in-the-moment/). In the post, she answers the question "what can a cancer diagnosis teach the patient?" Her message is an important reminder for all of us to appreciate the varied experiences life presents. Enjoy! Julie

I'm a bit of a sap (I cry at WalMart grand openings), but this got me boo hooing big time. Thanks for posting.
