There is nothing that compares to Coke ;D There is nothing that compares to raw sewage, but I wouldn't want to drink that either.

When I was living in New York, my neighbor had a party and there I tried SKYY Vanilla vodka with Coca Cola Vanilla. Now that was delicious. Now when I drink soda, it's Coca Cola Vanilla. always a first time, m...amen!

Gave up soda about 6 years ago, but Pepsi was my drink of choice. Didn't lilke Diet Pepsi, though, only Diet Coke.
Ever had Cactus Cooler? Sort of a cross between Mountain Dew and Sprite. Yummy.

I went through caffeine withdrawal - severe headaches - for about a week. I had been drinking about 4-5 diet cokes/day. Once I got over that, it was pretty easy. Now, I can't drink more than 2-3 sips of soda. Feels like my nose is going to explode from the fizz. I do miss my Pepsi, but only when I'm eating Mexican food. Well, that's pretty much 3-4 times a week, but I just take a sip of my better half's Pepsi to get my "fix".

I thought that "Cactus Cooler" was just a play on words (sounds similar to Coca-Cola) from the Flintstones. So you have no moral qualms about downing caffeinated beverages?

I've never seen Cactus Cooler sold anywhere other than Arizona (and only at WalMart) and San Diego. LDS church does not have an "official" stand against Coke. It does against coffee and tea. It discourages members from consuming anything that is addicting. So, morally, I think I was breaking the Word of Wisdom because I was addicted to the caffeine in Pepsi/Diet Coke. The church has strongly cautioned members recently about "energy" drinks. Again, not "forbidding" them, but cautioning against them.

I have seen Cactus Cooler sold in Texas/Dallas, Los Angeles/Riverside, and some store in Oregon other than Arizona. I just like Coke with my Pizza & Mexican food. Nothing else cuts it. Otherwise I try and swallow water with my food! ;D As for Coffee, I like the taste and the smell in the morning!!

I would note that I do remember in my younger days when many soft drinks came in 16 oz glass bottles with a deposit. I remember when it could be 90 cents for the six-pack of Coke bottles, but an additional 60 cents deposit.
I also remember pull tab cans. Sometimes we'd just drop the pull-tab back into the can and drink it. These days we probably think of it as a choking hazard.
Or one of the most interesting cans I remember were from the late 70s. It was just two press in buttons - one to drink out of and one smaller one to vent while drinking. They were sometimes difficult to open, and people resorted to using tools to get the buttons to open. Or people would cut their fingers when they did open and/or get their finger stuck in the hole.

Fresca or Dt. Squirt. I like the tartness of those two sodas. Add just a little cranberry juice...delicious.
