Wow... A CHESTNUT HILL COLLEGE professor did the unthinkable Wednesday afternoon during math class. Rudolf Alexandrov, 71, an adjunct professor, became agitated and quickly walked out of the classroom inside St. Joseph's Hall, according to sources familiar with the incident. He returned briefly, then yelled some words and ran to the second-floor railing overlooking the veranda inside the hall. When concerned colleagues summoned campus security, Alexandrov, who had been standing on a ledge next to the railing, dived headfirst over the railing, said Lt. Robert Zaffino, of Northwest Detectives. The fall to the marble floor is about 20 to 30 feet, he said. The horrific act reportedly took place in front of his students and wife Olga Alexandrov, 56, also an adjunct professor at Chestnut Hill, according to sources. www.philly.com/philly/news/20110805_Chestnut_Hill_professor_kills_himself_during_class.html?cmpid=125219969

We had a very unstable Electrical Engineering professor who killed himself a few years after I graduated. I had a couple of classes with him and he would suddenly start ranting at the top of his voice in the middle of a lecture and then just as quickly return to the lecture as though nothing had happened.

I had a math teacher in high school who would get really upset...he would throw a shoe across the classroom and then run in the hallway to cry for the rest of the period. Apparently, it can be worse...

We had an EE prof who was a Navy enlisted man stationed in a Marine base in Vietnam. Apparently he got abused non-stop, he was very bitter about it. He would be lecturing on control systems and soem smartass would say something about Vietnam and BOOM, off we would go on a two hour tangent and never get back to controls. Of course we still were held responsible for the material he DIDN'T lecture on because of his rants, so we got crushed came exam time.
Remember Sam Kinison in Back to School? That was what it was like.
