Ian Anderson Named MIVA Player of the Week Junior opposite hitter recorded a career-high 28 kills against seventh-ranked IPFW loyolaramblers.cstv.com/sports/m-volley/spec-rel/012307aaa.htmlJan. 23, 2007 CHICAGO - Junior opposite hitter Ian Anderson (Wawatosa, Wis./East) has been honored as the Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association's Shondell/Dunlap Division Player of the Week after averaging 7.38 points, 6.38 kills and hitting .464 in two matches for the 13th-ranked Ramblers. Anderson posted a career-high 28 kills in five games as part of a 33-point effort against seventh-ranked IPFW which included six assist blocks, one solo block and one service ace last Friday in Alumni Gym. The next night, Anderson notched his third 20-plus kill performance in four matches to lead Loyola to its first MIVA win, a 3-0 sweep of Mercyhurst. For the season, Anderson is second in the MIVA with 5.80 kills and 6.43 points per game and also ranks ninth with a .430 hitting percentage. Anderson entered this season with 37 career kills but has already more than doubled that mark with 87 through four matches. 13th-ranked Loyola travels to Honolulu for the 13th annual Outrigger Hotels Invitational this weekend at the Stan Sheriff Center. The Ramblers begin play at 11 p.m. CT on Friday against third-ranked Hawai'i then faces second-ranked Brigham Young at 8 p.m. CT on Saturday.
