Didn't see the game but I never blame the ref even when they make several bad calls. I gained that respect for them by becoming one myself... On the occassion when I sub for a head coach for a local boys club team and a bad call occurs, I tell the boys to forget it and focus on the next play and what they are going to do next. Except maybe for a match point (even then) there are usually many other missed serves, hitting errors and shanked passes that lost points. The one or two point lost by bad calls wouldn't matter if we had less errors in what we do control...

The Dons need become more efficient from the service line and have their passing hold up. In the previous match versus Loyola they were fortunate to come away with a win do to Loyola beating a bunch of serves in the net or long. If they other team is serving tougher and passing better, IPFW becomes a very vulnerable team.
This is coming from a Don fan.
Lick your wounds, take the rest of the weekend off, and refocus on Monday.

I rather see them get whopped now than at finals in Nationals. GO DONS This is your moment. Seize it.
To OSU. "Nice", well done. IPFW needed that. You opened a can of worms. The worm has turned. They will come back, and eat you.

Junta, I think Oh State last year at the begining of the season beat UCLA and Hawaii. Or some good team in the MPSF. ..... SO WHATTTTTT. They always crap their pants in the MIVA tournament. ... They dont have "fresh legs" to evercome such long season. Their setter is junk >:, and they always run out of gas.............. Dons r going to have problems with Loyola at the end of the season. .. They need to start passing better.

If they other team is serving tougher and passing better, IPFW becomes a very vulnerable team. I think you can say that about any other team, not just the Dons. I don't really see how losing a mid season game is much of a setback for IP. It might actually prove useful to lose one now instead of at the end of the year. Knowing the guys they'll take it to heart and come out gunning the rest of the way.

i went up to this game and ipfw played real well in game one. then the next three games, the passing broke down real bad and the serving was terrible. ohio state was the better team that night and meske was unstoppable. but they have the bucks again in two weeks and ill be at that one to. GO DONS

vbcosta14 - OSU lost in the MIVA semis last year. But, did they go to the Final Four the year before, in 2004 (a little help from someone)? If my year is right, then how is winning one in '04 and making the semis in '05 crapping in their pants? If anything, it is Loyola that has had trouble in the conference tourney, at home I might add. And that is coming from a Loyola fan. Don't let your love of IPFW blind you too much, vbcosta14. The Dons look great, despite last Friday's match. Keep it in perspective, and keep it accurate.

SPCTTR,, You need to realize that Ohio St is the best team in teh MIVA, (of course , after IPFW AND LOYOLA HAHAHA). They have potential and a good RS hitter, but they DONT have a setter, they have a "ball thrower" or a "Wrestler" something like that. LOYOLA FAN? YAAA RIGHT.

Not saying anything about anything ... just giving you all the stats!

midwest fan -
thanks. Glad I was mostly correct.
vbcosta14 - Never saw OSU as the best of the 2007 MIVA. Never said it either. Loyola fan? Yes. In fact, my support will always be with MIVA teams, despite the fact that the MPSF is far superior. I am a midwesterner, so I only comment on the MIVA teams since they are the only teams I can see live. I hope I am alive for a MIVA team to win it all, but I am realistic about that one. What I don't do is blast players. That is too easy, and it has no value as far as giving insight on MIVA teams. If you don't like a player, great. But when you use iyour dislike as ammunition, you look foolish. Your "ball thrower/wrestler" has been MIVA FOY 2005, MVP of the MIVA Conf. Tourney 2005and a 1st MIVA selection 2006. I didn't pick him, the MIVA coaches did. I would assume that includes Coach Ball, although I haven't seen his ballots.

I doubt that selection from two guys. Arnie Ball and Shane Davis. One is a real coach that knows about setting and ball handling, His son was a great setter too., the other one was a great setter that knows a deal in that department. FOR SURE I KNOW THAT THEY DIDNT VOTE FOR THAT SELECTION. Is call Honor and Knowledge. YES MIVA coaches did,, Some of them!!!! NOT EVERYONE.

Dons14 - On the whole thing about who picked who for awards, who did Coaches Ball and Davis select for those 3 mentioned awards, "MIVA FOY 2005, MVP of the MIVA Conf. Tourney 2005and a 1st MIVA selection 2006"?

Sorry, it was a typo. I obviously meant they won in 4 3-1. Then again somehow I think you knew that!
Sorry I'm not perfect ...

I've seen way worse "ball throwers" then the Ohio State guy, leave the guy be. Actually i think he's pretty good.
