UCSD never trailed in game two as they used a 7-3 run to close out the set giving them the 30-23 victory. The 49ers hit .333, but were outdone by the Tritons as they hit an impressive .633 for the set.

I'm very confused as to why Caldwell is not the libero. I haven't seen any matches this year, but last year he did a solid job (passing included). It seems weird not to use your senior. long beach could not pass...enough said

I think the Beach people are in hiding, ala BYU fans after a loss....
Spangler should get some MPSF newcomer of the year votes!

What say you, Beach people? Yeah, we lost. No excuse. UCSD was better than Long Beach that night. Slightly. Upsets happen, you know. Roger Federer was upset by some unknown eastern european guy at the 2004 Olympics... I guess what happened to Roger at the olympics happened to LBSU two days ago. Hard to believe but we indeed were upset by some unknown school (volleyball-wise) this weekend. I mean a school where half the population don't know what ESPN is. A school whose library is crowded on super bowl sunday (I must say, though, UCSD has a beautiful futuristic, mushroom-shaped library) Embarassing loss? Yes, but we'll live (and learn) Good luck, UCSD!

Is there an English department at the "Beach"?

Yes, but we'll live (and learn) Good luck, UCSD! I agree with Tiruray...It's an UPSET Match... Looking at the stat lines both teams were pretty much even on everthing except kills, SD had 13 more kills than Beach. Outside of that most of the other stats are pretty much right on par with what would look like a GREAT matc. Back and forth throughout the match, Beach beat up on them in game 4 and then tanked it in game 5. Games 1 and 2 SD battled to win, winning both by a total of ten points. Game five was the blowout for SD, winnin by 6. It was just a great win for fro the Tritons. As I recall isn't this the second meeting between the two team this year? It ust shows that the SD coaches made the right adjustments before the match and during the match to help their team win. On top of the that the players played their hearts out for the win. Give credit where credit is due. "They will live and learn" from this.
