Well it seems that the Beach has finally found its hitters! And libero! As an old Beach fan and living way up here, finally getting to see them play this year was great. Watching them the past two nights, there still seems to be areas of weakness. Serving the ball. There were too many services errors. They were lucky last night that UOP had just as many and at the wrong time for them. Passing is getting better with Caldwell but still needs more help from the other players out on the court. The setter for the Beach might get his serves over the net but they are usually easy targets for the opponent. Also, it would be better if the Beach had a bigger setter who could add to the block. What happened to the other setter that they had? Seemed he was bigger with just as good of hands. Don't know why they don't use him more.
Oh well go Beach...it was great to see you win.

Iandolo is the 6'7 setter for Long Beach that was playing a little earlier in the year. He has some advantages over Eaton obviously in blocking/serving and also being able to get to a higher ball. But he lacks in a couple areas that are preventing him from starting. His legs still aren't there yet, he struggles to get his feet to the ball and isn't as quick as Eaton, also his hands are good for the most part but he doesn't seem to connect nearly as well with the hitters as Eaton does. Beach has the hitters in Lotman,Liles,Bittner,Alexander,Fahbry,Hutton, and since their passing has stepped up substantially they are able to run their offense better and Eaton is distributing the ball well. I think this is the best lineup for now until some of these young players start to realize they can contribute to this young team if they work hard in the gym and get stronger in the weight room
