Not a big fan of Michael McDonald or "Hallelujah." I do, however, like the Doobie Brothers. Merry Christmas.

Leonard Cohen's timeless masterpiece has been recorded by many artists. I think it's tough to give the music the range it demands. Hallelujah is meant to reveal both power and humility - as in the Grace of God. Not many artists can pull this off.
KD Lang has several versions recorded Live that are moving. She brought the house down at the Olympic Opening Ceremonies - arguably the largest stage on the planet. There's something about a live audience that makes it more powerful. They're on youtube.

Brandi Carlile doing the Cohen song. I think she has just the right voice for this song.
