I want to know if any of you have gotten parking tickets while attending a match at UCSD. We had a bunch Friday night and I've seen some articles on Internet where episodes of mass ticketing have occured for RIMAC events. I want to use the input to urge them to put better signs up. Thx.

How much is parking anyways? Back in 2001 I went to the Women's VB Final Four, and decided to take in a basketball game on that Friday night at UCSD. Parking was only something like $1.50 at night.

It isn't about the amount. There was no attendant, no pay station nor signs that were visible on how or where to pay. Wallet was in hand. I want to know if any of you experienced a similar experience as our group who received multiple tickets.

Parking is free on weekends, but you must pay for mid -week games(inculding Friday night games). Parking kiosk if self paying type just up the hill from the turn into the parking lot at Rimac. The signage isn't great, but there are warnings posted. My experience with all college campuses is to assume that parking is not free and you had better seek out where and how to pay for it because if you don't you will have a nice little present waiting for you on your windshield upon your return.

I didn't get a ticket, but agree there was little assistance, and I went to UCSD on a weekend evening. I still don't know where the "RIMAC" lot is. I do search out parking options after being ticketed before on other campuses. Paid my $5 at Sac State this weekend, then ended up in a faculty lot after not being able to find the gym (called Yosemite Hall, that was helpful) Would have gone ballistic and to court if they had ticketed me for being in the faculty lot on a Saturday in a state supported facility.

Got my ticket earlier in the season for a Friday match. We too looked for a kiosk or sign explaining how and where to pay.
There is a website on the ticket that you can send an e-mail to contest it. We lost the contest, but got the ticket reduced to $6.00 - probably the cost of parking had we ever found a place to pay.

I could have told you that. I'm not sure what's up with the price on weekends though. It used to be something like $2. There were plenty of places to park just north of the health center, which is a short walk to Yosemite Hall. The first time I visited Sac State for a spring tourney, I made the mistake of using their parking structure. It was the same price, but far away and visitor parking started on the third floor. Still not as pricey as Cal. There, it's $7 to park evenings on campus for visitors. Even so, there's street parking, which isn't really an option at Sac State.

We had a rental car - if we didn't pay, the rental company would have come after us. Would like to know if an repercussions for not paying.

I got a ticket friday nite at the UCLA - UCSD match. My ticket expired at 8:53 pm and I got to my car at 8:40. The match was over around 8:30 and I went straight to my car. I went directly to the parking office - they said they were closed and couldn't help me. I also stopped a campus cop and he said he couldn't do anything. We have to go on-line or call the security office.
Security should have the ticket, but it BS to hand out tickets before your ticket expires.
Nice crowd at the match. At least 50 Samoans cheering for Garrett. UCLA looks solid, however, their setters won't take them very far. Going to the UCI - Hawaii game on saturday, that should be a good one.
