I would be shocked if Brazil won a gold medal with Dani Lins starting at setter
Fofao where art thou?

Fofão retired after the 2008 Games.
She and (now) my Sister in Christ Dani Scott-Arruda are both tied for the most number of Olympic Games appearances in the modern era.
5-times; STILL whooping it up and no longer as spring chicken(s) either...praise God!

Yes I was aware of that...the comment about Fofao was made in jest to Brazil's setting woes
Scott-Arruda and Fofao are both tied with five appearance, but Estes of Russia will be making her sixth appearance in London setting a new record again

Mari has been cut too! This is a bigger surprise IMO.

Mari has been cut too! This is a bigger surprise IMO. Not surprising. She has drastically under-performed. Who is taking her place instead?

Natalia hasn't set foot on court for about a year or so (both internationally and Sollys) so I would be really surprised if she got the spot. What happened to Sassa?

Sassa probably will make the team. She is such a wonderful utility player.

Agreed. Btw, who do you think will start? To me only Thaisa and Sheilla are locks; it'll be interesting to see eho Ze Roberto will start on the outsides. As of now, Paula and Fe Garay seem like the best combination

I hope Sassa makes it. She is a better Barboza/Lichtman type player. Good at everything, but not great at anything.

As of now, Paula and Fe Garay seem like the best combination I've said it before and I'll say it again. Paula is the best outside Brazil has at the moment. Jacque is up and down and Garay has been injury prone. Paula starts. Jacque/Garay split time depending on who brings it each day.
