Gamova and Goncharova starting at the same time? That will be realy terrible for their floor defense. I hope Hugh has them practice tipping in front of the giants.

well it depends on Kosheleva..if she can regain her form in the Olympics...
i think this olympics will be a make or break for Goncha...
or the third option is Artamonova,Sokolova,Gamova....

Looking at what appears to be the list, isn't Estes the last one listed? Could be alternates, I guess, but the last of 12 names.

Her name is also Zhenyia so it could be alphabetical...but make no mistake Estes will be there, as will Goncharova, Gamova, and Sokolova.
Kosheleva is the huge wild card. When she is at the top of her game Russia is at a whole other level

When she is at the top of her game Russia is at a whole other level With the exception of Sokolova listed in the wrong spot, the list is alphabetical. fwiw, Zhenyia is a shortened form of her first name so they would not sort alphabetically by that name. In Russian Estes starts with a letter near the end of the alphabet.

All right, it's been 40 years since I nearly flunked Russian, so it's very spotty, but the link referred to above has a list of 12 names that I tried to translate. Of the 12 above, all except Artamanova and Kobeshova are on the list. The last two also may not be. I translate the last 2 as Ekaterina Ylanova, which could be Artamanova, and Irene Estes.

Kobeshova has been switched with Ulanova (another DS/libero). Estes is Artamanova. Her first name is Evgenia.
If Kosheleva is out she would be replaced by Makhno or Chaplina. If Merkulova can't go Moroz is in.
Also expect to see and hear Goncharova/Obmochaeva used interchangably. She got married.

Kobeshova has been switched with Ulanova (another DS/libero). Just a name switch. She is known as Ekaterina (Kabeshova) Ulanova now, right?

Does this mean the Russian players are finally getting along? Weren't Sokolova and Kosheleva fighting about who between them should take up the reception duties? Something about both of them just wanting to hit and saying the other should carry the burden of reception. Even Gamova and Goncharova look civil towards each other now.
