I like Klefot and you can definitely make an argument she deserved the last two. But how in the world do they justify the #8 player in digs on a team that came in 4th in the conference winning the libero award for a 3rd time? I'd give them a pass if she was #8 on the 1st place team. But I don't get this pick other than my previous theory on lazy coaches not putting as much effort in libero recognition.

Are you suggesting she isnt the best bro in the league? Digs would also be just one function of the postion, and I would also add that digs would secondaryin importance to passing.

I'm saying I find it hard to believe she fell from 1st or 2nd in the league to 8th in digs, the only libero stat the conference publishes unfortunately, and yet still no one in the SEC compared to her apparently. No dig on her (ha!), I just think there were probably other worthy candidates out there rather than going for the rare three-peat in a year she didn't rank as high as in the past.

No Mary Pollmiller I know she has some issues but she is still the 2nd best in the SEC No Pendergrast She should be in over Swatsky. No Kayla Jeter Happy For Molly and the rest of the girls.

Interesting note, Florida has had SEC FOY 4 times. Always 4 years apart. Cruz in 2000, McGinnis in 2004, Murphy in 08, and now Ziva. I guess the next one is in 16

I think this shows that coaches actually thought about it. Digs are the 2nd (or 3rd) most important function of the Libero. Serve receive is by far the most important and Liberos have to serve as well....in the case I our Libero, this is Unroe's #2 value. Thank The Lord the coaches gave the award based on merit instead of just picking the digs leader. That would be a crime. Note: I believe Klefot is the most talented Libero. However, I would've had no issue with UT or TAMU getting the Libero spot.

CAn't argue with Mary winning, but would have liked to see Robbie get it, given their overall turn around.

BTW I give the coaches credit for not just blindly picking the top name on the digs list. I've been giving them some grief about that around here.
Behind Florida, Arkansas probably has the easies route to the Sweet 16 in the SEC. Pulliza has to have a good shot at Region Coach of the Year if they can steal a game or two.

Dee dee seems to have suffered because of hitting pct. cause all the middles ahead of her in league matches, were recognized. Even though she was 2nd in blocks.

What's with all the love for Pollmiller? You can't argue against any of the three setters taken ahead of her. Braunies is really good (has enough hitters around her which helps). Molly Kreklow did the most w/ least - hard to hit that well as a team with no passing. Sawatzky set A&M to a west title and the offense was very good. Pollmiller is good but not better than those 3.

One could argue Polmiller was surrounded by the best offensive players in the league. I think what holds her back is her coach. She has zero control because Rob is a control freak. Zero room for creativity or changing up a call otherwise he flips out on you.
