One could argue Polmiller was surrounded by the best offensive players in the league. I think what holds her back is her coach. She has zero control because Rob is a control freak. Zero room for creativity or changing up a call otherwise he flips out on you. Yeah, but how do you feel about Rob?

At one of his talks before a match recently Patrick actually spent a good portion of the time talking about that issue. He admitted a lot of people disagree with him but made a pretty good argument for his point of view.
Pollmiller is very good but was a little down compared to last season. Harrison missed some games with an injury which might explain her being left off.
Bad time to lose Baker going into the tournament. Looking forward to two trips to Louisville in the coming weeks though!

So, I know this the 2012 thread, but with the information surfacing that a number of Tennessee players are looking to jump ship, what happens to the Lady Vols in the near future? Where will they stack up in 2013? Are any of those players wanting to stay in the conference? How will Rob Patrick be effected?
I'm not trying to pick on Tennessee, I'm just honestly curious about their future. They've been amongst the conference best and losing that many good players hurts the current roster plus makes potential recruits very skeptical. I'm worried about them falling and negatively impacting the improving strength of the SEC.

Im afraid that almost every player on every collegiate team is ready to jump ship. It's like they bought a day pass to an amusement park if they didn't like the ride they look for another one.

My brain on exam week.

What's funny about him not releasing players is that he loses the ability to restrict them. If I wanted to leave and he wouldn't let me, I'd be talking to UF, UK, Mizzou, A&M, and LSU. I'd probably ask about the 2014 schedule and make sure I was somewhere that got to play Tennessee twice.
What a loser

Before the 2013 thread gets started any thoughts on expected finished assuming no major transfers or coaching changes?

Polmiller is a great setter. She wants to be the only setter on the floor with a 6-1. Bianca came in Rob started running a 6-2 and MP wasn't happy with that. Not the coaches fault...that's the player's attitude getting in the way. Happens in a lot of programs. Players always have competition coming in. Too bad she can't realize they're a good combo together and would be stronger if she would adjust to it. That's a chemistry issue not a coaching issue.

MP was overlooked over a lesser setter in the SEC end of season awards. Rob had a lot to do with that. That is not how keep one happy especially since she has to endure the verbal barrage and the constant play calling.

The "lesser setter" did more in almost every catagory in the SEC. That said MP may be a better technical setter but did not do nearly as much for her team as the other setter you mention frequently this year

Hey Fryitup, why are both setters leaving if only one setter was unhappy? And why are 4 starters or 50% of the starting lineup leaving if the program isn't broken? That's the equivalent of the whole UT football defensive starters, asking for a transfer!!!

Not only was she responsible for A&M's horrible year, she is also causing Tennessee to fall apart. Let me guess...she caused the Mississippi St. setter to quit and somehow broke up the Missouri team this year as well.

Now if only I could figure out how to make those nice boxed quotes before someone accuses me of being a "lesser poster".

That said MP may be a better technical setter but did not do nearly as much for her team as the other setter you mention frequently this year One thing is for sure, you are not and have never been a setter! I left out her name because I really did not want to get into this but since you are very wrong in stating that she did so much in every category, I just have to correct you. Feel free to go to the SEC site and check the overall stats. The only category she led in the SEC was in attacking! A&M led in assists as a team but the setter herself was at a miserable #6 #1 Taylor B Florida #2 Sierra W UA #3 Christine H Kentucky #4 Mary Pollmiller UT #5 Molly Kreklow Mizzou So, how Is that leading? And EVERYONE especially Texas and Florida know that she cannot block so I am sure she is not leading there. She is slow out of the back row and her defense is mediocre... You and PJ just calm down and stop taking it so personal. No, she is not responsible for what is happening at UT. But MP should have been recognized over her.
