USA playing France. I guess they need more rest between games, so soccer started two days early. One of the commentators said players run between 10-12 miles in a game. I haven't run 10-12 miles in two decades .

I was just expecting the opening ceremonies to open it up. I forgot about soccer players needing the rest though. Good for USA!

. . . .
The other Carli Lloyd put the US women's soccer team out front against France. The US eventually won 4-2. They scored four straight after going down 0-2 to start the game.

Soccer has some interesting logistics. Because of the need for large venues, many of the earlier rounds are played away from the host city. During the '96 Atlanta games, some of the games were played in Washington, D.C. and Miami.
Many of the early-round games are played in front of small crowds. I heard last week that two thirds of the Olympic tickets still available are for soccer.

Its not the world cup..... think of volleyball being a U-23 tourney instead of professionals....

I just try to make sure I'm not chased. or just make sure you're in a group ... just gotta run faster than the slowest person ... Doesn't work, because I am the slowest person.
