I'm sorry if this was posted before but is there somewhere we can find when and what channels the matches will be televised?

There's a box on the lower right side to get your TV schedule; you enter your zip code and select your provider. That brings you to a page where you can select schedules by sport. Looks like vball will be spread across the main NBC station, NBC Sports Network and MSNBC...perhaps more, but I didn't look at them all...

NBC is said to be live streaming everything online. The only caveat is that you should at minimum subscribr to the NBC U-verse level, which is pretty nominal for most cable or satellite subscriptions. once you have shown that, you can download apps for cells, PDAs, computers and tablets and get live streaming.

Here is the women's schedule so you can track down how to see or stream it live. Times are EST:
Sat 7/28 2:50 pm USA vs South Korea Mon 7/30 11:45 am USA vs Brazil Wed 8/1 3 pm USA vs China Fri 8/3 3 pm USA vs Serbia Sun 8/5 3 pm USA vs Turkey Tue 8/7 Quarterfinal Matches - TBD Thurs 8/9 Semifinal Matches - TBD Sat 8/11 Bronze and Gold Final Matches - TBD
If you go to the nbc olympic link above in an earlier post - click on "select a sport". Chose Volleyball. Click on the calendar/days running at the top of that page. You will get the schedule of all matches that day and there is an "Alert Me" link for those who need a reminder in the middle of the day so you don't miss anything.
FYI - the men play on the women's off days.

So if you don't have a cable/sat subscription you can't watch? Not sure. You can probably pay to get access. No. At the present time NBC has made no provision for you to pay a fee to directly access the live content. Don't have a TV contract = no access for you. Which is stupid since they're ALREADY streaming it all. Could add extra revenue with the existing production.

They don't pay a billion gazillion dollars to get the TV rights to the Olympics hoping that you will PPV to see them. They pay that much because they want you to get used to tuning into NBC and watching NBC after the Olympics are over. PPV would be counter to that, so they don't do it. theoatmeal.com/comics/game_of_thrones

This would be much less of an issue if NBC covered more events live, rather than delaying broadcasts to air in prime time. That's what I used to love about the Canadian coverage by CBC, which was available on our cable lineup here in Seattle up until the Beijing games - lots of live coverage, whether late or early.
What is revealing is that streaming of live events is, apparently, not going to be made available on the Roku or other streaming devices. In other words, they're fine with live streaming as long as it merely nibbles at, rather than takes a bite out of, their prime time audience.

In any case, I'm fairly confident I"ll be watching almost all of the VB via restreaming. I'm actually pretty sure I can have a vb-related quasi-conversation in Polish by now.
