That's funny, I thought he'd been coaching women for the last four years, at the very highest level of the women's game. No one can become a Jedi coach in 4 years. A laugh at your notion. Mistakes will be made. The differences in the Male/female games are huge. Even so this coaching staff is awesome. I wouldn't make changes now either other than situationally switching DH to the Left when we serve. Or if our middle attack starts going south. Always gotta have a plan in the Jedi book. If Hugh can't do it in 4 years, what makes you think you know more than he does?

How about you let people have differing opinions, and stop being jerks.

I'm sure you've heard of that infamous quote about having an opinion. Ok, how about I ignore this thread since it's meaningless, as Hugh is busy with real coaching in London. There, I fixed my own problem.

If Hugh can't do it in 4 years, what makes you think you know more than he does? Because I've been coaching for 234 years little ewok. All I'm saying is 4 years is not enough time to become an absolute expert in anything. Also, I'm all for "trusting the process" but the process should always be ready to adapt. Players at this level would have no problem implementing the few details I suggested. Khitt thanks for noticing they are only observations/suggestions. Kinda what I thought this board is all about. Again, these observations are not slams on Hugh in any way so don't get defensive Chewbacca.

I don't think Yoda has done anything wrong, he even says he understands that it is too late to make much of a change, and we have all seen "better ways" to do things on this board in many circumstances. OMO. One mans opinion.

1st off congrats on a great start and getting the team ready and focused. You and your staff have a great steady mentality that shows in the team. hopefully the team keeps performing at this level but here's some suggestions none the less. Ak is the best slide hitter in the world. She should be in the M1 position so she can run the slide more. Harmotto is connecting better in front so the M2 spot works better. To earn more transition kills move Hooker to the left when we serve. Keep her in the RS position but have her block and transition hit on the left when we serve because she is our best terminator with out of system digs. The backrow strategy is awesome. Our 3 passers are doing great. Larson solidifies the passing and defense so keep Hodge out. Set the middles more, tell Hooker to stay aggressive and the team stay hungry and humble and Gold is ours!! That's all Hugh. Have a good night ol chap. I'm glad Hugh paid you no mind.

Are you really? My suggestions had you that worried??
It was great to see DScott play. She brings great energy and is so effiecient at every skill. I can't believe how good Hodge was! She went from the bench to MVP. If she passes steady enough and swings with that kind of authority no one will have a chance. Great subs Hugh at the right time!

Hugh should come around some posters' place of work and give suggestions on how to make the fries.

Hugh should come around some posters' place of work and give suggestions on how to make the fries. You give some of these people too much credit. Making fries take skills.

That's all Hugh. Have a good night ol chap. Obviously, Hugh disagrees with your suggestions. I'll throw in some potential reasons: AK & Hooker are possibly the best blocking tandem in the world and have been blocking together for quite sometime. Moving AK to M1 would mean that they block together for only one rotation. Their block is a point-generating machine for the team, more so than an extra slide attack (it's not like Harmotto is chopped liver on the slide anyway). Hugh took Scott-Arruda over Bown despite Bown being a better slide hitter and possibly the best slide hitter on the team. To me, that indicated that he felt the slide attack was not very important to his offense. I disagree with your opinion that Hooker is the best terminator on out of system digs and sets. Hooker is not yet very creative in her attacking. Out of system, she pretty much just tips and pushes. In system, she may be the best in the world and if we're in system, we can set her whether she is left or right side. On the right side, she generally faces a weaker defense and therefore is virtually automatic. Further, she is poor on floor defense compared to Larson & Tom. Putting her on left side pretty much puts a big target on her head for opposing attackers and guarantees a large number of attempted digs for her. Your points have merit, but probably more so for a different system with different values. At this stage, the team and systems are set and aren't going to be changed. The team will win or lose with who they are at this point. What he said. I think Harmotto is a pretty good slide hitter also, but she hits a lower set than other middles--tougher to do, but CT seems to get it.
