I don't get this collective sigh of relief that Russia was eliminated.
I for one was looking forward to seeing our A team play their A team and send them crying back to St. Petersburg. In fact it was the thing I have been eagerly anticipating all summer long. It would have been a fantastic match with numerous exciting PvP matchups. And we would have WON. And even your Aunt Carol who doesn't care anything about volleyball would have been on the edge of her seat unable to tear her eyes away from the power and grace and intensity.
Fie on all thee I say. FIE!

FIE! It's the same crowd who wanted us to lose to Turkey in order to try to make sure Brazil wouldn't get into the medal round. Note that the actual team doesn't think this way at all -- they went and swept Turkey because that's what they do.

Well I hope Brazil makes it past Japan as we have a better track record against Sheila and Co than we do against Ebata and more.
