Terrible. Just embarrassing. Italy really not playing that well, credit to them, but this has been a pretty epic implosion.

It might have been a different match if the US had won the first set. But, it was downhill from there.

Quarterfinal losses suck.
That was a bad matchup for the USA.

Suxho has pin tunnel vision. not on his game today... but neither is the passing so.... Definitely agree the passing was beyond atrocious. However, even with manageable passes he still went to the pins. Way too predictable. All in all it was poor play, poor game strategy (imo), and poor adjustments. We just looked like a college team out there and made Italy look like superstars.

Well hats off to the men's team. They did much better than I originally thought, but a tough draw gave them Italy. Had Pool A kept it together, we'd likely have played ARG, but alas there always RIO.
Today wasn't all Knipes fault, but it's time to replace him. Great career for Priddy, Stanley, Lee, Lambourne, & Suxho. Rooney & Anderson should stay. Everyone else should go. Peace.

I think the serving strategy was a big part of this. It absolutely boggle my mind that they continually served the libero on the float serve. Just a huge oversight by the coaching staff. We served Zaytsev every time in Dallas, and by the third set he was shanking floaters with his hands. Would've been a different game if we'd made it a point to serve him.
