I didn't see anything about the volleyball CLUBs that they had had been on....9 months of the year with a club plus national exposure at JOs vs 3 months with the high school coach.....which do you think has the bigger influence on a player's development?
Actually you see this all the time with NCAA Volleyball announcers having done little analysis about the players and their various relationships to each other. Sometimes they get the fact that three + Illini women played on the Same Club team....but rarely would mention that they had squared off against each in a high school conference\sectional\state title match....or even played on the same high school team. (all true)
Ditto when George Mason Mens VB plays the Mastodons....(club mates, brutal high school competitors) or even that a Ball State player in his freshman year was a roommate of several of the IPFW players.
And it gets worse when you dig into it even farther.... next door neighbor coaches gangly kid.... 15 years later the neighbor goes to see the tall kid play NCAA VB.... says hi to the NCAA volleyball coach who went to the same alma mater..... and the neighbor was a dorm roommate of a player on the same VB squad as the coach back in the day and the roommate is now coaching Women's Volleyball at USpoiledChildren. Small World, but the GCU announcer's announce games, they don't dig into stories.
so did NBC Blow It? I don't think so.....they didn't mention that they went to the same Prom, etc. either....

I found the interview with the clerk at the Shop&Shop that both stopped at after the Manhattan Beach Open to be very enlightening...
