Ray Nietszche was the best Packer ever. Too bad about that which killed him.

Should I quote Nietzsche about that whiich doesn't kill you? FSU will be fine, I don't know how they match up, but it sure should be fun to watch! #6 Florida State playing #21 Texas A&M twice this weekend ! also looks like the Freshman Right Side hitter for A&M was named Freshman of the Week this week in the SEC FSU's Freshman Right Side Hitter, Mili Kubura was named Freshman of the Week in the ACC last week.. Should be a good match up.. Bring it On ! GO NOLES !!

Final weekend of pre conference play for FSU on the road at Texas A&M finishing with two big wins over the Aggies. Friday night's 3-1 win was much more intense than the Saturday moring Sweep (20,16,8)
Noles are 11-0 in Pre Conference..who would have thought? Especially vs. some tough teams played:
Nebraska (3-1) Iowa State(3-0) Florida (3-2) Marquette (3-2) American (3-2) Central Arkansas (3-0) LSU (3-1) Samford(3-0) Auburn (3-2) Texas A&M (twice) (3-1) and (3-0)
Thoughts on Pre Conference:
With 4 new transfers joining the starting line up(Horton, Hauer, Vaughn and Wright) plus Freshman Kubura the coaches IMO did an amazing job using the pre conference matches to test different line ups to prepare for ACC conference play.
The returnig starters: Walch,Mosher,Wickstrom,Burrington and Luke delivered on coaches expecations and each did what they needed to do to bring the new players/transfer along to build that much needed chemistry.. Was it all perfect? A Big No... there were many times they struggled on the court but they always found a way to end with the Win...that shows teamwork and character..
Looking forward to the start of ACC play... next up UNC Friday night at Tully gym... this will be a great match !
GO NOLES !!

Did FSU just play the bench?

Did FSU just play the bench? Coach sat Walch in the second and played with his lineup losing 26-28; then to Auburn's credit FSU w/Walch played maybe their worst set of the OOC losing 17. With their back against the wall FSU out scored Auburn 40-24 winning the 4th and 5th 16 & 8.

I dont believe FSU has ever started a season going undefeated in pre conference play. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
Looking forward to opening ACC play this Friday @ Tully vs. UNC and Sunday vs. Notre Dame
IMO Florida State and UNC are the 2 best teams in the ACC this season. Both run a 6-2 and fast offense.

Florida State soph OH, Katie Horton (transfer from OHIO U) was named ACC Player of the Week for her outstanding play this past weekend vs. Texas Aggies.
In the 4 weeks of Pre Conference play, Florida State has had players named to ACC recognition in 3 of the 4 weeks. Nicole Walch (POW) week one, Mili Kubura (Freshman of Week) Week 3 and Katie Horton (POW) week 4
NOte: ACC only names one Player of the Week and one Freshman of the Week.. many conferences recognize many players each week ( i.e. Offensive player of week, setter of week, Defensive player of week etc) so it is indeed tougher in the ACC to earn this recognition
As well, Senior libero, Katie Mosher was named as a Top 30 national finalist for the Senior CLASS Award.
National Ranking: FSU (11-0) held on at #6 for AVCA Coaches poll Sep 22nd. and early predictive unofficial RPI has FSU at either 2 or 3
A great start / momentum going into conference play this weekend.
BTW #6 FSU vs. #12 UNC Friday match @ Tully can be viewed on ESPN3 or ESPN3.com live stream at 7 PM

VolleyVolley you may be right- FSU and UNC appear to be the 2 best teams in the ACC right now although as we all know any thing can happen once they start playing for keeps. The FSU/UNC matches may be for all the beans in Boston- Let 'er rip!!!!!!!!! By the way how has Hauer fit in and how is she performing? I wish the Gophers hadn't let her slip away.

Hauer has fit in well and has worked her way into the line up.. She was key in the wins over Texas Aggies last weekend at the right side. She does not hit the hardest ball but she gets points playing with smart shots.. What I like about this years' FSU team is the teamwork and "all in" attitude. It has gotten them through some tough matches.. I see them playing for each other and buying into the game plan laid out by the coaches. At times it has not been pretty and there have been ugly sets played but you can't argue with an 11-0 start.

It almost makes me wish i was going to be in Tully for the Friday matchup. It should be a barnburner. Tully is a tough place for visiting teams so I know UNC has its work cut out for it, but make no mistake the 'Heels are very good. By the way, it is good to see Hauer doing well.

Good news if you can't be there in person--- the match can be viewed 7 PM ET on ESPN3 or ESPN3.com Granted it is not like being there which you described to a tee.. It does become electric in there with the Seminole Sound band and fans so close to the playing surface. it is a tough environment for opposing teams...

Florida State moves to #5 in this weeks AVCA Coaches Poll.. Highest ranking in the history of the school
Their 13-0 start to the season is the best start in the History of the School as well
What is making the difference? IMO it is the mix of tenured leadership of seniors, Mosher and Wickstrom (who have been with the program since 2011 Final Four run) .. they are critical role players on this team as Setter and Libero.. Add to this key OH, Walch and MB, Burrington..as well as setter, Luke.. These are all Florida natives... all wanted to be part of the new vision for Florida State..so they are personally vested in building this program !!
THEN -- add to this the critical transfers... OHs/Right Sides Horton, Hauer, Vaugh and Middle, Wright..all came into the program hungry with something to prove !! This combination along with freshman right side, Kubura..is adding up to a diverse yet dynamic team that all have a common goal... play for each other and WIN !!!

Florida State continues to deliver on their Plan to win in 2014. Currently 17-0 and 6-0 in ACC conference
10/13 AVCA Coaches Poll--stay at @ 4 rank 10/13 RPI Stay at # 2
Whats working? Players on this team have chemistry.. they find ways to win when down..have observed them many times with huge leads vs. opponents then they let it slip away.. but have always..so far.. found the way to pull it out in the end and earn the win
All players are contributing to this effort. Setters connected very well this past weekend with middles, Wright and Burrington. OHs, Walch and Horton are so solid and can put the ball down. Options on the right continue to provide opportunity.. Hauer, Vaughn and Kubura are sharing this key position and coaches match them up well vs. opposition. Libero, Mosher is solid in the back row on passing and defense
FSU at home this weekend vs. FAMU and Virgina Tech.

Florida State reaches their highest AVCA ranking in school History- #3 via the 10/27 AVCA Coaches Poll.. Also Highest ranking in the History of the ACC
FSU remains #2 in RPI ranking with a 21-0 (9-0) record
Still have to play @ Duke (Nov 13th) and @ UNC (Nov 14th)..IMO these 2 matches will play key factor in determining the ACC Champion.
OH, Walch and Freshman Right Side, Kubura sweep ACC Player and Freshman Player of the week honors-- each for a 2nd time this year
Senior Libero, Mosher also named as a Top 10 Finalist for the national Senior CLASS Award.
What makes this team work is their chemistry on the court.. They remain calm and find ways to win.. was evident when down 0-2 in sets vs a very tough Pitt team this past Friday night.
Players step up and win..as a team... LOVE IT !!
