I was at the Redondo Union-Mira Costa match last night, and saw (for the 2nd or third time) one of Texas' recruits play. Yasmeen (Yazzie) Bedart-Ghani. I think you guys will like her. Legit 6'3," and can absolutely destroy the ball. The only high school kid I've seen with as much power was Falyn F. Well coached - good footwork, really nice blocking technique. She'll need some work on conditioning and passing, but Texas is getting a good one. Thanks for the comments. Yaasmeen definitely seems like a power player. What's your take on Redondo's sophomore stetter, Norene Iosia? Any clue which colleges she's considering? I would also be interested in which colleges Iosia is considering. Last night she served 39 aces in a high school playoff match.

Some guy posted it on the prepvolleyball.com message board today. I questioned it also but the guy seems to know what he is talking about. 39 assists seems much more reasonable.

There was a rumor she committed to UCLA as a freshman, but that's all it was (a rumor). Although she does play club for Joy Fuerbringer and both her parents coach for Joy, so there is that. I keep hearing Hawai'i, but it's best to keep in mind that's from 2nd hand sources.

If it was really 39 aces, then Stanford needs to get her in their lineup ASAP.

Edit: yeah, it's old - Marymount (her old school) vs. Redondo Union (her current school) in the 2012 Southern Section finals. Bedart-Ghani was a sophomore in that match.
