Your guys weird attacks on this poster is what is odd in my mind. Chuck is a great guy and coach, but this poster barely touches him and you guys are like a mob on him. Like I stated, Chuck is good and I think he'll do great at Auburn, but you guys are like a pack of rabid dogs. Relax, he's not beyond criticism like everyone else. Agreed. And the other thing I would like to add. Someone mentioned that he "survived and persevered". I pray for him and his wife with whatever difficulties she is going through. And I am glad it worked out for him. But there are people out there truly trying to survive and persevere. CCoaches who are also very good at what they do who haven't been given a chance...let alone two....in the same hiring season. Coaches with kids who have exhausted their savings, run up credit cards, collecting unemployment waiting for that next opportunity while job after job goes the energetic 26 year old female who played a little and coached some club. Or to the guy that has done nothing except schmooze at the right camp to get a big name calling for them. That is survival. That is perseverance. I am not minimizing what this guy has gone through, but I don't think overselling his "struggle" compares to those who are far less fortunate to go from GA Tech to CO State to Auburn. Most never get to any of those ONCE let alone 3 times in a 4 month span. Again good for him...but there are many far less fortunate with a much tougher road we should be pulling for and celebrate when their break comes. IMHO.

I think you are incorrect when you said that there was a mob on him or got weird. All that was done was people asked what the beef was and I said, "I feel like your point of view is in the minority and not sure what you mean that it is an opinion of an apologist and not all involved think it is awesome. Let's see who think it is awesome- family, auburn, friends. Yep those are all that really matter. Obviously you don't know Chuck well at all because if you did then you would know how well he does his job. Chuck stepping up to the challenge is no problem contrary to what you think. You make it obvious your opinion is made from ignorance." Where is the mob? Please we didn't agree with your opinion that was made from an ignorant place? You are right that he isn't above criticism but what was said seemed to be more like out of bitterness. Two very different things. 2. I just want to know who doesn't think it is awesome- the people who are probably bitter and angry that they didn't get a call for one of the jobs because they have early more knowledge, experience, blah blah blah. 3.. Is it really up to YOU to assume what is survival and bitterness just because you read the bare minimum that was written. That is bold. You know nothing of the situation. What we read in the newspaper is not everything I hate to break it to you. Comparing what happen to him to the 26 yr old girl or the schmoozer is like apples to oranges. Yes they are both sweet and fruit but that is where the similarities stop. Please remember that GA Tech got a new HC so if Chuck didn't get the CSU job he would not have had a job- I am pretty sure he didn't want to leave Tech. He got extremely lucky because of the opening but he also has the knowledge to have gotten the job. 4. Lastly we celebrate people who get jobs on here so not sure what you mean. We celebrate all levels. If you all think this is a mob then you might want to toughen up because there have been people in the past who have been eaten alive for their comments. This was just a difference in opinion.

I don't know what spike is talking about so I'm not going to try to understand that. My comment was made after I read the thread through once and it seemed like you and Phaedrus were jumping on Ghost for a pretty simple comment. Reading it back it wasn't that bad, but that was my first impression. I can see Ghost's point, but like I said, Chuck is a great guy and I think he will be great at Auburn.

This was just a difference in opinion. This is my point. Some people no matter the circumstance get the benefit of the doubt. I know Chuck more than you think. It seems the comment that riled you up was stepping up to the challenge. The comment was directed at replacing Kris. Kris is also someone I know well. I know what Kris meant to AU and those are big shoes. I have no interest in coaching so not sure how I am bitter. I've always known Chuck to be stand up. This situation is no different. The other comment stating it depends on your point of view is legit. I can guarantee you any administration in the business would be frustrated by what transpired no matter how much they understood. Chuck was honest, upfront, and made a decision. He found another job quickly. None of this is bad unless you're CSU and their staff/administration. Or Manhattan basketball coach/administration. Or MSU Mankato football coach/administration. Your point of view is different depending on where you are. I'm glad Chuck is at AU and know Rick and Eysha are thankful for help. TJ leaving GT was tough on a lot of people but things have worked out. Tom and Brooke will find a quality candidate for CSU and all will be well on Volleytalk. You really compared a guy leaving a job because of true family reasons with a coach who lied about his degree and a guy who was arrested but cleared for child porn!!! Seriously that was your comparison??? Hahahaaaaaa! You also want to compare him with the Arkansas coach who crashed the motorcycle or with Pinkel the Mizzou football coach who got the DUI. Wow! That is a terrible! No your point of view should change if you have morals and are human and appreciate that he truly put his family and wife first which is what people should do On that note you win! Hahahahaaaaaa

Wasn't trying to win. But obviously that's your whole point. You're only going to support Chuck. I'm supporting Chuck and those impacted by the decision. He made the right choice for him but that doesn't mean All involved think its awesome as you state. Sorry a broad view doesn't seem to fit your ideals.
I deleted my posts due to the ignorant path this was heading. It's what bothers me about this thread and I contributed to it.
As stated multiple times now, wish Chuck the best at AU. Have prayed for his family and health.
May the next person of broader thoughts be spared the narrow mind of the protectors of few.

In fact I am glad for him. I was simply pointing out that there are many others far less fortunate that we should be praying for with talents and ability that make decisions and are responsible for more than just themselves. And when those stories happen....they should also be embraced. There are many who deserve such good fortune and truly in survival mode.

Word is Davidson may be adding some royalty from just down the road The other word is that she isn't that interested but was going through the process just to go through it. Her Kingdom has treated her well thus far.
