Talk to your compliance officer, they cannot stay with a staff member for free. If they are paying room and board (and it has to be reasonable) then it's allowed. I think that is a big gray area and depends on how you read the rule. Most certainly a gray area. Not as gray as some other things happening with "volunteers," though. Like paying your volunteer $20,000 each summer to run camp.

They can't have the counselor title and get that but they can have a director type title and get that money.

Hints? Voluntary or not? This is late for a change. I really suck at hints, but here goes (provided jumboshrimp and I are thinking of the same opening): It will be a baptism of sorts for whoever takes the job. (and the coach that left did so voluntarily to take another position). Might have been a little too blatant. I do know that said coach had been searching for others, they had interviewed up north and did not get the offer, where is said coach off to?

Well, I did admit that I sucked at the clues. Believe the coach's new job is in the Pacific Northwest. That's all I know.

I haven't look at the full listing but I think Michelle was also the business manager for athletics. They may have split the positions or Michelle decided to pick one or the other. I always enjoy talking shop with her.

Is Scott Swanson leaving South Carolina? His twitter account indicates he is in Mpls watching future recruits.

I know. That wasn't the question though. Nevermind, I've probably said too much.

Is Scott Swanson leaving South Carolina? Are you sure you aren't confused about one of his assistants leaving South Carolina for the HC job at Jacksonville? Swanson isn't leaving.

Did the Administration start to wonder about all the transfers? Did Scott find a better opportunity with more of a chance to compete?

Or, could this be the sand coach since their season just ended. Cannot imagine Scott going anywhere this time of the year.

Any word out of Lakeland or UWGB? I had heard a banana with roots in WIS, currently in the south had been offered by Lakeland. Can now confirm the above Banana with southern DI experience is returning to WIS to take over Lakeland.
