Ga State made the Sand assistant the head coach of the sand program, so will Tami's replacement still be involved there or is it just indoor volleyball? Her title was "Director of Volleyball" and I believe she oversaw both programs. Guess we won't know for sure until they post the job. Update: They posted the job today: ncaamarket.ncaa.org/jobs#/detail/5850460no mention of Sand Volleyball

When will most of these positions be filled? Ballpark? Jan? Feb? That depends on several things: quality of applicants, urgency at the school to fill the position, if they offer to someone will that person take it etc.... Some fill quickly and others take quite a long time. Sometimes the school drags its feet and sometimes no one will take the job because they see it as too challenging / not funded well enough to be competitive.

Simon led Winona State to an 11-18 overall record (8-12 NSIC) this past season, and was 69-80 over five seasons. I don't know the circumstances around this change, but 69-80 overall with that conference schedule keeps a lot of people employeed.

I don't know the circumstances around this change, but 69-80 overall with that conference schedule keeps a lot of people employeed. I would tend to agree. IF there are no extenuating circumstances, it doesn't seem right for Dave to be replaced. AD's sometimes have an inflated sense of how a coaching change would benefit a program. I remember a former Georgia Tech AD who was raked over the coals for understanding how tough it was going to be for their football team to even remain a .500 year in and year out. Who knows, though? Maybe he just wanted a change of scenery. Not all jobs are a fit for all coaches.

When will most of these positions be filled? Ballpark? Jan? Feb? Of the opening we know about, most MIGHT start the process - posting, phone interviews, etc... - in Jan or Feb. Thanksgiving and Xmas holidays really play havoc with this process. Especially given that that DII and DI will not be done playing until Dec.
