Wow - six years!. How many college VB coaches sign contracts of this length? Well, there would be zero reasons to not extend Dave that far. He has outkicked the coverage further than the AD probably could have dreamed of, and may be the best program on campus.

Azariah (Z) Stahl and Danielle Cuttino's team went 9-1 over the weekend and they won the Mid-East Qualifier and received a bid for Nationals.

Azariah (Z) Stahl and Danielle Cuttino's team went 9-1 over the weekend and they won the Mid-East Qualifier and received a bid for Nationals. What are the odds a person with a family member nicknamed 'Z' going to a school that 'Boilers Up' would utilize the name 'ZUP'? But on a serious note, that class is big and for the most part very skilled and experienced. They will definitely be more skilled next year - should be a wild B1G season for all.

I recently saw the 2014 conference schedule and saw that Purdue plays IU in home and away games within a few days of each other. Is that something that every school will be doing this year?

According to one Big Ten coach, each school plays their "travel partner" home and home during the same week - normally Wednesday and Saturday. So I am guessing that "yes", Purdue plays Indiana twice during the same week. What is biggest rivalry of the Big Ten? Of travel partners, I am guessing Michigan - Michigan State, but are there others?

Wisconsin/Minnesota has an ongoing border battle across all sports, withy the ADs passing a trophy back and forth. The football teams play for Paul Bunyan's axe.

Purdue and IU volleyball have "The Monon Spike" trophy, so I wonder which day counts for the spike? Ug. What are the pro's of playing your rival twice in one week? There is no time to build excitement for a rematch! And it doesn't matter where either team is in the Big Ten wins & losses columns, it IS a rivalry match. Purdue students have been cautioned against chanting "IU SUCKS" at sporting events. But, there are certain songs the band plays, that it just comes out of my mouth. It is an ingrained for 40 years response to that song. And you say it no matter who you are playing. Actually, I think we say it less often the actual games we play IU. Blame Bobby Knight!
