You don't think Kristin Carpenter was just serviceable? FYI, she won a championship at PSU a few years back. Look her up. If that's what you think, cool. I still disagree. Really, that's what you are going with?
Carpenter didn't set the next season - - move to DS or libero and hardly played her senior year.
She was a great competitor, but a lousy example for you to use in this situation.
To describe Allison as serviceable is laughable.Well I guess I am laughing then. She was not good. Just okay. Ha ha ha

To describe Allison as serviceable is laughable. What I am saying, and it's clear I need to be very explicit with you, is that a team with superior talent can win a championship with a serviceable setter. Kristin was not a great setter. She won a championship. I believe if she continued to set, the team would have made additional final fours. Your argument that someone can't be just a serviceable setter, win a national championship and go to final fours is BS. Your argument that Allison was a serviceable setter is BS.

I don't know why people complain about Allison. She set the team that won the national championship. Her coaches thought she was good enough to be their starting and only setter. And maybe they wanted her to set moonballs.

Who was the setter in the 2008 class who committed (and then de-committed) to Texas prior to Michelle Kocher coming on board? If I remember correctly she was foreign, wasn't she? I thought, from what I remember, is that it was a Croatian outside and the plan was to have engle set. But when the outside didn't come, Elliott didn't feel he had enough pin hitters to make it work. Which brings us to 2009 when the season started with engle setting and then the 6-2.

I have read the above dribble for several weeks now. Those who criticize Allison should be ashamed of themselves. I am afraid that with all of the talent that the true Texas fan that actually knows volleyball will be wishing that she was back. Clearly Allison should get credit for the tremendous showing Texas had during her playing career. To think otherwise is pure ignorance. Texas will be very good again. Will they win a National Championship only time will tell. If you are a true Texas fan, stop the whining and enjoy the talent. I know that sounds simple but a lot more mature than hiding behind an anonymous name and calling out a girl who is a National Champion. Shame on you.

Let's move on from the past and look towards this year. If you are not a Texas fan, why would you even open this thread?! Texas 2014 is going to be a great year, Championship or not! They will go far and play great volleyball.

And Southie is very correct, most likely not an announcement, if there is than there is but may not be, the orange and white will be a good morning..... I'm excited about the season, I know you are Southie!!! To our horns---- let's win it all ..... Again. Thanks for sharing. Christmas in July! She reminds me of Julianne Faucette in so many ways. Good luck to her at Texas; hope she finds what she is looking for. Wow, I say that every time we watch the 2013 PS game. She's is a very exciting player. This is so frakin' awesome. Sorry, if I missed this but why was she red shirted at PS? Is she healthy to play?

Lower leg injury her true freshman season (2012), I think. 100% healthy in the 2013 season, as far as I recall. Fingers crossed for a healthy three years at Texas.

Ok. thanks. Hey, sending me a PM attacking me and Allison doesn't speak well of you.
If you can't handle the give and take, you probably should stay away from this thread.

Post whatever you want - no problem with me, amigo. But don't expect me to agree for the sake of agreeing and not posting why I disagree.

But don't expect me to agree for the sake of agreeing and not posting why I disagree.Without getting heated, in your opinion, who would win in the match between Kocher's Texas team vs. Allison's Texas team going head to head? If you want to know my opinion, it's a toss up between Kocher and Allison for me. Because, unless you're great, I can't tell the minor detail.

Hey, sending me a PM attacking me and Allison doesn't speak well of you.
If you can't handle the give and take, you probably should stay away from this thread. Your inability to address an argument and personally attack is what I take offense to. It's fine you disagree, but give it some support. When someone counters your argument legitimately, don't attack them. To recount, You stated "how could she be mediocre when they won a national championship and went to final fours?" I said, "it's happened before...see Kristin Carpenter and PSU. She won a national championship and was definitely not a great setter. Hence, you don't have to be a great setter to lead a team to a championship." I went on to state that Hannah's technique, location, ability to set middles, were all reasons I do not consider her good. You didn't address my comments and ridiculed me. You ignored the argument and attacked me rather than address what I said. It's fine that you don't agree, but at least have the respect to address what I say with fact/opinion/observations/stats rather than to just say it isn't so. That, my friend, is BS and I will continue to call 'em like I see 'em.
