What's the story with Criswell? Did I read correctly on the OSU match thread that she was injured? It's been a lingering thing that acted up last night. I believe it was compounded by an ankle sprain that occurred earlier this week. Hopefully she'll be available for the big match next week.

What is everyone's predictions for the UW match?
I know they still have to play Rutgers, but I'll ask anyway.
I want Illinois to win, obviously, but I don't want PSU to win the B1G, but if Illinois wins against the Badgers, then PSU and Wisconsin will be tied for first.
Anyway, wa=hat are the predictions for this game?

People talk about the 5-1, which does provide some consistency that was lacking, but what really impressed me last night about the Illini was floor defense. That seemed to key a lot of their runs in the match, and seemed much improved over the previous meeting with them. Makes them a really tough team to beat, which is good when coupled with some of the powerful offensive hitters they have. I expect a deep run in the NCAAs.

On the bad side, other than losing the match by the slimmest of margins, Criswell is definitely nowhere near 100 percent. She had a big brace on her knee and was clearly not in pre injury form. She was game and had some nice swings, but it is clearly holding her back.

Good to see Illinois sweep the Hoosiers. I hope that the Illini pack out their last two home games. Do you guys think that the Illini will get to host the first two rounds (a top 16 seed)?
In a way, I'm glad the Wisconsin beat Illinois, because (call me rude), but I don't want PSU to win the B1G AGAIN. Wisconsin has a one match lead with Rutgers (bottom of the conference) and Purdue (who just moments ago, lost to Minnesota 3-0) left to play. I think that they have a good shot to win both. PSU on the other hand, has Northwestern (who has proven to be pesky at times), and Nebraska (who has been playing better in the latter part of the B1G, and who are about to beat Michigan 3-0, and who are also one of only 2 teams in the country to have more wins than losses over Penn State.) (UCLA is the other team)

Yes, I think Illinois gets a seed. And we will try our best to win the next two games. Purdue may be pretty desperate when they play us. It may be their best hope of getting in.

I am already wondering who will play the final B1G match for Illinois vs. Michigan Saturday. Will Coach Hambly decide to rest OH Birks with her strained left knee ligament? Early word is she will be cleared to play...but is the match important enough for her to play, or would it be better for her to take some extended rest time, and be ready for the first weekend of the NCAAs?
I sure loved the fight in the Illini Wednesday night in the victory over very tough Nebraska. Coach Hambly and his staff were masterful in cobbling together rotations on the floor to overcome a flu-weakened starting setter, Viliunas, and their reliable OH Birks who left at the end of the fourth set, and did not play at all in the deciding fifth.
What a luxury this season for Illinois to have the depth they have to replace one good player with another good player. 14 Illini saw playing time, and Illinois needed every one of them to perform well to take down an equally determined Nebraska team.
