You keep going all Shakespeare on me. 'Tis a consequence of early upbringing. My mother was a English Lit major and high school teacher. (I actually had to look up which play it was that started with a framing device and then never finished it. But give me credit for knowing that there was one. "Christopher Sly" and his whole framing plot is often dropped from modern performance, but I have seen at least once where he stayed on stage the whole time and silently reacted to the rest of the play. Apparently there was a Quarto version of the play where he had a final scene, but in the canonical Folio text he simply disappears except for one random line in the middle of the play.)

Anyone seen "Bodyguard" on Netflix? It stars Richard Madden from Game of Thrones and has been getting rave reviews. But anyone seen it here yet?

This explains why I like musicals. My mother was a dancer in her youth, watched MGA musicals when I was growing up, and sang/whistled musical numbers while washing the dishes. Every Sunday, it was "Sixteen Going on Seventeen" (from The Sound of Music) or "All I Do is Dream of You" (from Singin' in the Rain). It's a wonder I didn't turn out gay. (Now, some doof is going to say, "Wolfie, that's not how gay works.") Gene Kelly's character makes fun of Debbie Reynolds' character, but you can tell from his expressions that he really really likes her...a lot.

Archer (s3) The animated comedy series. I'm continuing where I left off. Really funny show. I don't know why I never finished it. I'm going to do a mini-binge session. There are ten seasons. I'm halfway into season 3.

Deutschland 83
Pretty neat espionage drama set in 1980s West Germany.
It's like The Americans except that: (1) it's set in West Germany, (2) the "spy" is from East Germany infiltrating military high command in West Germany, and (3) the East German spy has no deep cover family. But they're both set in the 1980s during the tail end of the arms race between USA (led by Ronald Reagan) and USSR. Like The Americans, the soundtrack is heavy 1980s pop music, with a Euro twist, e.g., "99 Luftballoons." The intro uses "Major Tom" (by Peter Schilling), a huge hit single in the early 1980s. This song was also hilariously sung in Breaking Bad by the tragic hippie/drug maker Gale.

Catherine O'Hara's much more than that. Did you ever watch SCTV? Or any of the mocumentaries those people made like Best in Show? I noticed a Ron Sexsmith tweet today talking about how much he liked Mary Margaret O'Hara. She is quite the reclusive artist who could have been a superstar (IMO). But what I just discovered today is she is Catherine O'Hara's sister.

Who knew some people liked living in East Germany and being under Soviet control?! Is every episode in German? I dislike reading captions 😐

Did anyone watch HBO/BBC’s new series His Dark Materials? I didn’t hate it, but I also couldn’t get completely into it. I’ll give the next few episodes a try. Really enjoyed the trilogy as a youngster, so I was hoping I’d get into this series.

I dislike reading captions 😐 Even for American or other English language TV shows/movies, I always turn on the subtitles. People sometimes mumble a lot. I also like to know how they're spelling the words to names, places, and obscure things because without it, I'd be lost.

Agree on subtitles.
Several years ago we were watching "Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy." We just couldn't follow things, even though everyone is speaking English (in theory). We turned on subtitles, restarted it and realized it's one of the great movies of all time.
Just watched the Masterpice Mystery production "Unforgotten"...kind of a British version of CSI. Excellent show. But you need subtitles.

It can be really hard to understand him, especially if he's talking quickly.
