Long Beach just defeated Idaho in four. This weekend Beach hosts their own tournament against Campbell, San Francisco, and Army. Idaho is in town for the Irvine tournament that starts tomorrow.

After tonight the freshman showed a lot of promise! I was really impressed with Megan Huff at opposite. She might be someone in the future at that position. Imagine Taylor, Huff and Greeley on the pins for the Wahine and we might have our tallest pin hitters in years!

Would love to see them all at their potential and do some damage.

SB down early to LMU 11-6,
can someone from SB explain Spindt going to the libero/DS???
is this gonna be some yearly ritual with the SB coaching staff to force one of their OHs to re-make themselves ?
LMU takes set 1 25-21

Spindt must be injured. I don't think she played at all in the Spring and seems to have only seen action in the back row thus far this year. UCSB needs her back ASAP.

Next year with 6'3 Castello comming in, it adds more depth at that position.

big day for the Big West, desperately could use some decent solid RPI wins with Northrdge @ Zona, Hawaii vs. St. Johns, LBSU vs. San Fran, & UCI vs. Utah State
Santa Barbara looks on the way to it's first win, thank god, vs. Fresno
how good is LMU?? Swept UCLA, and they steamrolled Santa Barbara. They are going to be 6-0 without losing a single set after this weekend.

USF is playing well and comes into the Myd tonight 5-0. I don't now the status of Okpala, but the Beach will need a big game out of Murray and Mackie to stop the explosive 6'4 MB Zaloznik. Reid played exceptionally well, against an outmatched team in Army, last night. The other pins--Miley and Bukovec--will also have to step up their game if we are to beat the Dons tonight. If Okpala is healthy and plays tonight, the Beach should be able to neutralize any perceived USF advantage in the middle.

Long Beach needs to keep up their serving from the last few games to limit USF from more sets to the middle
can't imagine Okpala will be 100% ready/healthy after how she looked against Idaho (always trying to land on only one leg is not a good thing). will be a great match-up if Mackie is in the middle, Mackie has been superb playing either right or middle (as needed) so far.
USF hasn't been a great blocking team, so maybe LB's OHs can get on track finally

How serious is Okpala's injury? The big irony is that Hampton--now playing for Clemson--is now healthy and Okpala is not. Anyway, if Mackie is playing middle, who will be on the RS tonight?

I believe Bukovec is playing RS, she is a very good all-around player and good blocker. LB has been playing Mackie & Okpala or Mackie and Murray (if Okpala sits) as the middles, since the first couple of matches. Murray is going to be very very good.

Thanks, ccmanlb. I didn't notice that Bukovec was on the right side last night. I agree, Murray may be the next great MB at the Beach.
