While you're both right regarding Satele, I would've like to have seen more from that position than what she provided. More kills, more blocks. Like a Kat Harms, Katie Fuller type. That depends on the offense that Shoji runs. Shoji's offense revolves heavily around left sides, and right-side hitters are not tasked to become the primary offensive producers. Shoji has always said they need somebody who could block and provide around 2 kills/set on the right. You didn't think Satele's one block per set was enough? That is actually very good for an Opposite to average a bps. at that position. I thought Satele was a very good right side blocker. And to be honest, I have not seen a rightside averaged 2 bps.

Although there's now a separate thread for it, UC Davis has performed some magic and come up with a great choice in Dan Connors as their new head coach. He comes with a terrific resume and I think he will guide the Aggies smoothly through the coming transition period. Connors makes a very nice coaching addition to the Big West conference.

If Hawaii cant produce an all around team, we can basically kiss the NCAA championships goodbye. Nuff.sed This is a rebuilding year, with a lot of young players. These young players will have the next couple years to learn and grow together as a team! Technically yes there young, but there playing "college ball" and couple years is no excuse bc when that class leaves and new players transition into the program; you'll have the same people come up with the same excuse like you've mentioned. They need to pick up quick and play like there's no tomorrow.

Great to see 7 of the 9 conference teams holding OOC tourneys at home.
And, 4 of the 7 schools hosting multiple tournaments.
And, UHawai'i playing all 11 OOC matches on the island.
OUT!

The "loosies" generally don't get finalized until after the pre-season tourneys are locked in. We probably won't know about them until each school posts their final schedule - soon, I hope.

Trust me, I've been in their shoes, it took us sometime to win a national title, not to mention two in a row. Picking up quick, does not substitute for experience, and experience comes from playing together as team for a long period of time. I believe any of these players can pick-up the offense, making smart decisions will take some time.

I kept kept looking left and right, thinking where? Over there? Over here? Where? Anyway, you don't make sense at all. Anyway, I think Wiz has a point. It will take some time to gel together!
