Look for the University of Portland Pilots to make great strides with former UCLA All American and USA National Team Member, Nellie Spicer Coleman, at the helm. Yeah, why, exactly?

UP could have a lot of potential if the admin supported it and they get the right staff in. They have decent academics, and you kind of get the best of both worlds by having an actual "college campus" while still living in a big city. Obviously not the best local talent, but they are in a good conference for recruiting and despite being private it's not prohibitively expensive for walk-ons (not much more than in-state total cost at UofO). I don't think they'll be winning titles, but they don't have to be a perennial loser.

All of that makes a lot more sense than the original poster's stating that Nellie would be the reason.

It'll come down to her ability to communicate her experiences to her athletes. She's had amazing coaches and opportunities over her career. She has a lot to draw from. I think she'll be an excellent coach.
