Interesting. Team USA started in Row 3 in every set EXCEPT the deciding set, where they started in Row 5. I wonder why.

It was low for hawaii standards, but you have to take into account its a friday match, and people have work and are tired. I expect ALOT more tonight. Excited to watch team usa play in person. Hope dixon plays again and fawcett does.

I think 4k to 5k sounds about right for a Team USA event at the SSC. Even when the USA Women have had UH stars of yesteryear on their rosters for exhibition matches, the place has not sold out. They did an exhibition with Japan years ago and both Deitre Collins and Teee Williams were on the roster, and the place did not sell out.
UH volleyball fans are loyal and fanatical about UH and its teams and athletes, less so about whatever the specific sport is.

i think 4,000 was pretty good .... all things considered. there wasn't a ton of promotion, it was a friday nite, and traffic in that area has been insane with all the road work, and there were no players with hawaii ties on the roster.
i'll add to the attendance tonight ... couldn't make it last night ... but will head down there shortly.

Do they still sell garlic fries at the SSC? Those things smell so good when you're sitting there and the smell comes in from the concourse.

Stream link should be up shortly. Same deal as last night. Not a super-high production quality (since it's just the scout cam patched into YouTube), but hopefully everybody could at least see the match okay.

You guys should upgrade to HD video, or at least use an iPad.

Ah nevermind, I just remembered an iPad is useless for trying to connect to any other devices.

The UH aunties brought leis for the coaches on both sides and it looks like the players. Not surprised. They always give the opposing sides leis
