I watched one afternoon session of the Dream Team Camp and obvious standouts to me that session were Allick, Orr, Meyer and Rodriguez. Meyer is pure throwback, country-strong. Reminds me of 5 or 6 former Huskers, circa 1995-2007 or more recently, Dixon of Minnesota. Or more athletic version of ol' whatsamahoozits from Penn State, senior in 2008. Allick and Rodriguez are super impressive looking athletes - Rodriguez is smooooth. And Orr, meh, unless you are impressed by sliding-on-your-knees-cross-country-on-the-money back sets. She looked to me like the most talented volleyball player in a gym that included Kayla Banwarth and Kelly Hunter. I never saw Cook or Reyes play, so can't say how she compares to them. :-) Orr is a 16 playing 18s and it still looks like everyone is wasting her time. She's a freak show in the best possible way.

I never saw Cook or Reyes play, so can't say how she compares to them. :-) I also attended the session and have differing opinions of what I saw. I am glad we do though, I like to see other people can see other things. I will make a few comments in here that I know will not be the most popular and will likely get attacked on by a few avid posters on here, but I will state my opinions nonetheless. The 2021 class is very high level. In fact, some of these kids could be playing on our current teams starting lineup. Orr is very seasoned, but still has much improvement needed. I've seen her play a bunch in person, but she seemed a little out of physical condition for this particular camp. Nonetheless, she does have National Team potential if she can keep fine tuning her sport and she is in one of the best places in the country to see that become a reality at the Nebraska program (Cook). Is she better than Hames right now? No. Will she be better than Hames in 3 of 4 years? In a different way, yes! But Hames (I'm too big of a fan of hers to give her any downgrade). Hames' freshman season was nothing short of AWESOME. The standouts in 21' to me: KRAUSE & BATENHORST. They could both give all of our pins a run for the their money right now. Very impressed with how aggressive they play. They could use some tuning in the passing department still. Their offense is the best attribute right now. But how exciting to have BOTH of these kids at 1 program. Gray looks real good, but has work (that i believe) will be accomplished with ease. She will be a top MB prospect in this class. She has really gotten better since I've last seen her. Rodriguez is going to be a great libero. I really enjoyed watching her play. She gets after it. In regard to the MIDDLES at the camp. The top one was ALLICK. She is a very fast kid. She moves VERY VERY VERY WELL for her age. She is flying around everywhere and getting into great position. She is going to PLAY a role for the huskers. Her offense I think will better with age, gain a little more strength. But, she is a gem and a total standout to me at this camp. Gray has a bit better offense prow, but doesn't move as fluent or fast as Allick. There were (2) other middles who attended CAMP that I believe were National Team caliber down the road. I won't mention their names to keep recruiting at bay here. but both were so good to me, that Cook will have a traffic Jam of middles in the future if they were to both commit. One was from FL, the other from TX. I was impressed with both of them and both will be invited to USA Select next session. As for Meyer.............................. :/ I disagree with the other guys observation respectfully. I think I remember saying something last season when Nebraska was struggling during the preseason, I made a comment that said, "If Cook can take this team to the Final Four, he would deserve Coach Of The Year." This quote comes into to play by observing Meyer. Meyer looks like she could bench press a truck and looks like she is a lethal specimen. however, he foot work is so difficult to look at. She moves so poorly and awkwardly and can never get into position to take a decent swing. The 22 and 23 MB's ate her alive. Now..... COOK, he lives for situations like this. And I fully expect her to be a dominant MB down the road. But she has a long ways to go folks. Lil' Kubik. She seems to be more of a potential Robinson styled OH. Her offense is good and valuable, but her defense and ball control is how she helps her team win the matches. She is very good in that backcourt. I'll be interested to see how she develops over the next few years as well. I wasn't the most impressed with her at camp, compared to the 21's, but she really stood out to me when she was touching every ball back there and has a great swing from the pipe. All-in-All. I don't think Cook has ever assembled such a talented group of kids like this in the coming years. It seems we have transferred in lots of talent to his classes over the past few years. But the arriving talent for this Nebraska Program is nothing short of impressive.

I like all the different opinions. I think it’s a good time to note that tomorrow is the last day of training for the USA Youth National Team. That means the final roster is coming really soon. Orr, Krause, Batenhorst, and Rodriguez are all competing for spots.

I really do think this 2021 class will go down as the best recruiting class Nebraska has ever had.

I would also believe each prospective player out of the 2021 class has the potential to be better than that 2013 class.

Pavan was the best pin and Stalls was probably the second highest regarded middle after Crimes.

Rodriguez, Orr, and Krause all claim spots on the YNT roster for the U18 World Championships All outsides, except Krause, were from the 2020 class. Congratulations to these three; I'm sure Batenhorst will be in the mix next year
