As a psu fan good luck at Texas. She was a good player. Unfortunately u have to be better then good to start at psu. She obviously went there because she thought her chance to start would be better there and she can contend. She's not going there for championship. If she was playing for another championship over rest of her career her chances are better staying at psu. If she was playing for title this year Stanford or USC would have been choice. Don't think either have scholarships to give and don't think she would start. Almost positive she wouldn't at Stanford this year. Hopefully she has good year. Out of the consistant contenders Texas is the place she has highest chance to start. I honestly thought she would go to Florida. She would almost for sure start there. We shall see soon enough. I could very easily be wrong. Time will tell. I do think it's gonna be Stanford or USC this year though. I love psu I just think to little exp with so many freshman this year. I think they're where Stanford was a couple years ago now. Stanford has to be the heavy favorite this year I bet this ends up on the bulletin board in the Penn State locker room. [b Maybe it's bad that I said that. I don't know. I love psu. I hope they prove me wrong. Just think Stanford and USC with so many veterans have the edge this year. In any case, here's to a new season which is hopefully a lot of fun

You know, with Paulina already transferring to Texas, this tells me what I needed to know about the freshmen: that they are pretty good. Bye-bye Paulina. Like others have said, if playing time really was the reason why Prieto left PSU, she wouldn't have gone to Texas. Texas has plenty of top talent to fill at the pins, and are bringing in more top 10 hitters next year. The operative word here is: "next" year.

You don't either so you shouldn't be commenting on what I said. THANKS!!!!! It's my opinion You said that PSU doesn't have an experienced outside hitter other than Whitney. That's not true. They do have an experienced outside hitter named Megan Courtney, you putz. Putz?? Lmao wack!!! Internet gangsters

I'm just curious, what's the policy when someone transfers. Can they be made to sit a year or what? What would stop a player from jumping from team to team

Isn't the scholarship they sign a contract. Do both sides have to agree to do a transfer ?

I'm just curious, what's the policy when someone transfers. Can they be made to sit a year or what? What would stop a player from jumping from team to team For a player being forced to sit out a season, its either (1) the coach does not grant them a release to transfer, (2) the player transfers within the same conference, or (3) the player transfers to a DI school for a second time. But if the coach does not grant the player a release they can transfer to a non DI team and play right away. Examples: (1): Michelle Lawrence - Colorado State (2013), Mercedes Vaughn - Tennessee (2012) (2): Amanda Gil - UCLA to Washington (2010) (3): Olivia Okoro - UCLA to Tennessee to Pepperdine (2013)

I'm just curious, what's the policy when someone transfers. Can they be made to sit a year or what? What would stop a player from jumping from team to team The NCAA only allows a One-Time Transfer Exception (By-law 14.5.5.2.10) This by-law permits a student-athlete at a four-year college or university to transfer to another four-year college or university without being required to sit out a year in his or her sport. There are certain requirements for this exception to apply. Specifically, the exception can only be used once for an athlete, the athlete must be in good academic standing and meet certain progress towards degree requirements, and the institution from which the athlete is transferring must state in writing that it has no objection to the waiver (often referred to as a "release"). Depending on the conference's transfer rules, a player will typically have to sit out and use a year of her eligibility if she did not get a release from her former university.

So with Paulina leaving that would open up another scholarship at psu right?

Maybe that's Skyler Dykstra? So with Paulina leaving that would open up another scholarship at psu right?

Maybe that's Skyler Dykstra? So with Paulina leaving that would open up another scholarship at psu right? A completely unproven DS? No. Fuller would be at the top of the list.

Like others have said, if playing time really was the reason why Prieto left PSU, she wouldn't have gone to Texas. Texas has plenty of top talent to fill at the pins, and are bringing in more top 10 hitters next year. The operative word here is: "next" year. She'll get plenty of time at TX, in all likelihood. She's going to certainly beat Neal and Pilar, who haven't shown anything to write home about. Their passing has been pretty bad, and are not consistent in the front row. Tiffany is good, but she is not Paulina, in my opinion. Paulina hits a very heavy ball and has decent variety. She has tended to hit too low against a big block, but she'll find her way to the OH at TX. You have three MHs with size that can move to the RS. McCage is my bet because of her blocking. Khat hits a quicker slide and hits better in front of the setter. Paulina is closer to a six position player than anyone other than eckerman.
