Ok this may be way out there, but why don't they have women's volleyball. I know many coaches who would drop their jobs as a assistants to start that program. It is a beautiful campus, in a downtown area of Nashville. Great Academics.
Maybe some people can shed some light on this topic. I think this school could be a gold mine.

Most of us probably don't know. Ask their AD.

I will give you an educated guess. For compliance reasons it is all about head count and dollars. I do not know what women's sports Vandy has (sure, they have women's BB). To be Div I, I think they need 7 or 8 women's sports. If they have sports that require lots of bodies (e.g. soccer, swimming, field hockey to name a few) they can meet the quota of female bodies and avoid the compliance police.

It seems like it would be easy to recruit good players and coaches to Vandy. Great academics, beautiful campus, nice climate and location. Probably there are internal, financial reasons they have not gone the vb route there. That is a school that always seemed to fit better in the ACC, than in the SEC.

If Vandy had an AD or an Athletic Department, you could ask him/her. They got rid of both last year. Their varisty sports are now the Office of Student Athletics, Recreation and Wellness, entirely under the Division of Student Life and University Affairs.
Vandy has always been a poor fit in the SEC. They are pretty good at some of the olympic sports(women's soccer, men's and women's tennis, women's hoops), but that's about it. Most schools in the SEC field 18-20+ sports, Vandy only 13. They are the only private school in the SEC and as someone mentioned, they'd be a better fit in the ACC, while schools like Clemson or FSU would be better fits in the SEC. Not that the SEC is weak in academics, Florida and Georgia are among the top 25 public schools out there, but Vandy just sticks out like a sore thumb in the league in virtually all sports.
