What about Snyder? She's my bet for L2. IMO her and Mallette/Santos-Lamb will be the outsides. I personally think it will be Mallette though. What are y'all's thoughts on who will set? I wasn't super impressed with Dagostino in the spring game but I haven't seen much of Detering either. Dagastinos floor defense foot speed volleyball iq and lefty attack is impressive as well as deterring's on two. I still think Dagastino is the way to go unless her size becomes too much of a blocking liability in bigger matches but she seems to be able to hold her own at the net. I like Dagostino as the setter for the gators. And my money is on Santos-Lamb taking the OH2 spot only because she is hungry and wants it bad. I hope she stays injury free for her sake and finally really show what she can do.

"A&M : Babers (with the right setter, she will be better than Sullivan! ), Sullivan, Lowack" While I agree that Babers is much more athletic, they are two different middles with her and Sullivan. Sullivan gets her points behind the setter vs Babers in front of the setter. Defending behind the setter is much more difficult in my opinion. I see with the loss of Patrick that Lowak and Hardesty will be outsides and two freshman will be on the right with Reasor and Aiple setting. The key to the Aggies success or lack of this season will be the ability to have the pin hitters play six rotations well. Sawatsky will be difficult to replace because she started to put a better ball to the outside her senior year than in the past, had a great connection with Sullivan and scored lots of points on second ball attack. I see the Aggies needing to start well in conference to have a chance this season as they have a few matches that are against really good teams in pre conference. I think they are a year away from a possible two deep run in ncaa if they don't keep going to Austin regional Oh please! Every opponent knew Sullivan would be running the slide (including us) and the good ones camped on that! Yes Swatsky finally started to set better towards the middle of her senior year but just better than before. Her 2nd ball attacks were only good against the weaker teams. She telegraphed her sets and attacks and every good team read her well... lets move on from this... Babers has a major upside. I think she is AA material if developed and set properly. Not sure who will set this team this year. I think that position is up for grabs... at least this year it is. Lowack will most likely become OH1 and I would guess Hardsty as OH2 with a few subs coming in occasionally. Libero has to be Arenas. I don't think we will see too many DSes this year other than occasionally. A&M will need to rely on their OHs to pass decent balls. It will be a tough battle for them to stay in the top 4 of the SEC this year. Babers is a role player at best. AA not close.

Dagostino's head and leadership will show when the first whistle blows. A gamer.

Dagostino's head and leadership will show when the first whistle blows. A gamer. I've seen her play plenty since she's been there, Wise generally puts her in when the passing gets bad cuz she moves to the ball so quick, or when another setter is making bad choices or not locating the ball right. Florida @ Texas A and M last year is a perfect example.

I also really like what Dagostino brings to the court. She plays really hard, puts up a surprisingly good block, and is a fast setter. As far as middles go, I think it'll be Alhassan and Antwi. Both will provide good blocking. Hoping that Antwi will provide some good offense as well. Outsides will be a fight. As much as I like Recek, she just hasn't improved a ton this past year. My vote would be for Santos-Lamb and Snyder. Santos-lamb wants it badly and has the firepower to do some serious damage in the front and behind the service line.

Dagastino also brings some emotion to the court, which was a nice switch from Taylor B. I think the position is her's to start the season but if the freshman proves herself as the season goes on, I could see Mary playing her situationally.

Optimus...please tell me that you are not from Missouri....because if so the one match Sullivan played against you she hit .682 with 16 kills versus one error out of 22 attempts. If that is stopping her then you are an idiot.
Agree to disagree over the past two years on Sawatsky's contributions but she performed quite well for the four years at Texas A&M. A different type of setter, more offensive minded for last two years and not the purest of setters in a technical sense but much much better than you ever gave her credit for

First call me an idiot then you want truce!! Both middles, including the RAW Babers hit over 500 in that game and Swatsky hit NEGATIVE and you LOST in 3. Mizzou had issues during that much unrelated to the AWESOMENESS of your middles And one good game does not prove a point. Never said Sullivan was not a good middle. She is. But she is best at running the slide and everyone knows it. I think Babers (IF SET PROPERLY AND TRAINED PROPERLY) has the potential to be an AVCA AA and not just an SEC honoree. Thats all... Now, can we have peace?

We argued last year and you started it back up when I simply said they had to replace her. So 16 kills one error in 22 attempts is predictable and stopped. Hmm ...

I think Alabama might be a surprise contender this season. They may not get past Florida, but I think they might have a shot at winning the west.

Curious how Tennessee will do this year. They have a few good incoming players that will need to make immediate impact for them to move up...

I'm curious to see how Tennessee will do as well. The most intriguing newcomers are Claudia Coco and Kanisha Jimenez. I've only heard really good things about Coco and with the loss of Ellen Mullins we need somebody to step in and Jimenez has national team experience with Puerto Rico so I'm wondering if she'll be the second OH opposite Jamie Lea. Compared to last season the only direction Tennessee can go is up.
