Well Cook has already said that both Annika and Sidney will see time on the court. I think his words was he trusts them. I am not saying Alexa is in the doghouse. She has a good serve so we could see her in that role.

Not sure how much DS duty will be available this year. Assuming she doesn't play all the way around, I would expect Albrecht to come in for Fien or Ostrander in the back row. Wong-Orantes will no doubt serve for one of the middles. If Haggerty gets the start as one of the middles, I would like to see her stay in to serve. If not, Ethridge or Townsend would probably get the opportunity to come in as a serving specialist for the 2nd middle.

Sydney definitely will get time this weekend as a DS and serving sub.

LOL, Nice try with your strawman attempt. The only person drawing conclusions is you drawing a conclusion that I've drawn a conclusion when in FACT all I stated was Kira out hit, out served and out blocked Amber, which is backed up by the stat sheet, after being asked to move to RS only four days prior and that I found that to be more than a little eye-opening---PERIOD. In other words, something to keep an eye on and see if anything develops. No conclusions are stated whatsoever. You're using one scrimmage as a measuring stick. That's not me strawmanning, that's you making a tacit claim. It's only made more sad by the fact you're trying to act as though you're not trying to make that claim since it wasn't explicit. You didn't bring up Kira's stats vis-a-vis Amber's for no reason. The implication was obvious, as obvious as your strange (slightly creepy) fascination with Kira. If you said this crap to me in person you'd get a beer tossed in your face. I brought up her stats simply cuz after only four days being moved to RS she out hit, out served and out blocked Amber. It's simply something to take note of and track for further development's. PERIOD !!! You saying I'm using one scrimmage as a measuring stick when I've made it CLEAR that I'm not is you strawmanning to the max. A perfect paradigm for strawmanning in fact.

Where she stood in the competition for playing time at middle may have also been a factor.

Where she stood in the competition for playing time at middle may have also been a factor. Yes, that and a lack of sub on the RS. I think she can give them 3 kills a game on the RS, something Amber hasn't shown she can do on a consistent level. The issues with her on the right are first and foremost passing. Secondly, its a weaker block, and third, she cant really score out of system as it isn't her strength to go off two feet on a higher ball. I still believe she can have a huge career at Nebraska, she has to figure it out and put it together. The tools are there.

Which begs the question: "Why not run her on the slide ?" My understanding is that Kira will play both RS and Middle doing both, almost like a two middle offense like Texas has run. Middle type plays on the RS and in the middle.

Why do you guys still think Fien and Ostrander have a shot at the OH2 spot? I'm genuinely curious. I thought you guys were smarter than that.

I still believe she can have a huge career at Nebraska, she has to figure it out and put it together. The tools are there. Again----My understanding is the coaches want to get her on the floor after watching her play in china against one of the top pro teams where she played really well. Then there's this which was shared with me which makes perfect sense: "With Kelsey's 20-25 pts per match, Nebraska was pretty predictable going to the Outside all the time. With Kelsey gone, Nebraska needs more firepower on the RS that Amber is not providing. If you get kills on the RS, the defenders do not camp out the whole time on your outside hitters. If Amber had a bad night, there was no one to replace her with, they tried Morgan that did not work. This gives them another option. Kira has been hard to stop on the slide."
