Time to let Hugh go? Why you ask? He has not landed a top 10 recruit. NW and Purdont had better recruiting classes than we did and Purdont had a MN kid as part of that class. He does NOT make coaching changes or adjustments during the match. He takes is faulty game plan and does not have any adjustments during the game flow. He was great with international type players who could adjust on the fly, but these players are NOT international players. There is not a single player on the roster right now that would make their national team roster. He needs to understand how to coach at this level. I will say what many have been saying in private conversations, fire Hugh.

Not even at this point, it's been like this since he got here. We fortunately had Whit and Dixon to carry us through. Those are not his recruits. Frustrated, YES. Recruiting is a huge part of this and game management is another. He doesn't have either. Great guy and nothing against him, but the college game is very different than international.

If things don't get much better next season with the team and he also strikes out with many of our state's big 2017 recruits, then I say absolutely. You'd have to pull the plug then. If I were Norwood, I'd give Hugh the next 14 months to prove himself.

Next 14 months? You realize he's been with this team now for 2+ years. Even though he was with the National team, he had a say with what was going on. Recruiting only part of the game. In game match coaching is a D-. These players are college, most will not play at a national level. You need to coach them differently than a national team member. Someone mentioned his quiet approach and passiveness and this is typical on the national level (except Brazil). Those players understand the game very intricately, these players are not there (yet - if ever). You watch the other coaches nationally and big 10 and see how they take a player who is struggling (i.e. tonight Wilhite, Schau, Daly at times) and give them the tools they need to change, even pull them out for a time and coach them (Rose does this all the time with his OH's). Hugh has had time to prove himself, this is one of the most successfull teams of the Gopher programs right now and the last 10+ years.....the last couple + years with Hugh has been the same.

Yeah, not too many coaches land all that many top ten recruits. Once Texas, PSU, and Stanford especially get there, that doesn't leave too many.

I wish MN would of went after OH Kylee Zumach harder. She's having a great freshman season at Kansas State. Something like 4 Big12 rookie of the week awards. Gophers could use a tall terminal OH.

No fair interjecting humor into our doom and gloom, (R)uffda! I am still recovering from last night's post-match therapy that it took me awhile to remember the other defn. of "terminal." And I did take lots of comfort in replaying some of Hannah's hits in my mind. Lord that girl has power!

She was on with her slide last night, it would have been helpful if they had better used that to run Sarah out the back the way they did against Wi too.

Looks like the season will end on Friday, November 28. And the sad thing is, which I know for a fact: Recruits are quickly taking notice...
