I will be driving down to Boise, Idaho this weekend to cheer for my team. Any suggestions on stuff to do while I am over there? I am definitely planning on being there for the FAMU game.

If you really want to make an impression, go to the local sports bar and yell: "GO VANDALS!!" as you walk in. If it's a Vandal friendly bar, you'll get free drinks. Otherwise, you'll get a up-close look of the smurf turf. There are a lot of things to do in Boise. Tour the capitol, visit the various museums and parks, and maybe get a tour of the HP or Micron plants. I'm interested in the results from this weekend's tournament.

Boogie Woogies is a cool dueling pianos bar downtown. I'd check it out. If you've got time and it's warm enough, go float the river. It's the hip thing to do!

There are quite a few very good restaurants downtown, but I really can't recall any of the names, sorry. I just know how to get there in a car when I'm there. Of course, if you're from Seattle... you'll probably not notice them as being as good as say, oh, someone from north Idaho.

I heard our B&B even has a wireless internet connection, so I may be able to post.

Floating the Snake seems boring...
Really, especially in Boise. There are sections where it is free-flowing, but I don't know of any very close to Boise. You could have a heckuva time floating through Hell's Canyon though!

Try the Waygo Marina restaurant on Hewitt Avenue. Best seafood and crab legs in the Pacific Northwest. it's really cheap too so you can't beat that.

Coming To Boise--just wander downtown...a suprisingly nice variety of restaurants, bars (Boogie Woogies is a hi-lite). Walk along the "Greenbelt" which runs for miles along the Boise River (you can hop on just off Boise State campus)--leaves starting to turn. Beautiful, peaceful and safe.
I believe there is still a nice Degas exhibit at the Art Museum (they are also featuring a Seattle artist, the name escapes me)--located just across river from campus.
Take a rain check on tubing the BOISE RIVER (IdahoBoy how could you think about the Snake? That is miles away). Very plesant summer activity--hundreds of people enjoy the slow meander through town and the numerous parks every day in the summer. Only in 70/80s for high this weekend.
Sideline: There is some talk that FAMU may not make it because of IVAN....
Also-- Boise State has now won more matches this season than in the last 2 combined. Of course, real test is this weekend.
