Its pretty close to season and I'm still curious to how this team is going to do. They seem to have a variety of offensive weapons and great new additions but still this team needs to get healthy first. In a picture from their alumni match, four players were not dressed: Megan Moenoa (Sr. S), Michaela Leonard (Jr. S), Haley Lawless (RSo. OH), and Jordan Robbins (So. S). That leaves only Julie Consani (Sr. S) the transfer from Cal State Fullerton to set. Also they had the recent flooding on top of all of that.

Moenoa isn't even dressing yet?
I think I found Sealy's theme song for the season.

They better get healthy, cause they will see a pesky LMU team this weekend.

Anybody see the alumni game? Who looked good? How is the Greek lefty? How did Buechler play? Should be a very interesting year in Westwood.

The alumni team was weak and they still made 20-22 points per set. The current team won all 3 sets but I wasn't impressed overall. One person who seemed really good is Reily Buechler. She plays OH and looks like a very solid all around player. 6'1 with great hops, aggressive, great D, vocal. Reminded me of Dicey McGraw. I also liked a DS/L from Hawaii, Rachel Inouye... Rest of the team was so-so. Zoe is not improving and Karsta should have made a much better career at a stronger team. Greek lefty was ok but nothing special. I don't think this team will make it to the NCAA rounds

Has Inouye improved over Drolson or did you just not see Drolson play

I watched their game against Birmingham today and thought that the Greek lefty (Olga Stranzali..?) was very good offensively. She was hitting outside so she tooled the block a lot and has a heavy arm (heavier than Klineman). Her passing was shaky at first but she started passing better as the game went on. Pair her with Buechler who is very good all around, I think that Klineman may as well have lost her starting spot.

I really hope the Bruins have a good season this year. Currently a student at UCLA. I was a freshman when they won their championship in 2011 and that set some expectations for the seasons to come. Sadly, team has been in decline ever since; last year was pretty much unbearable to watch. I went to like 2 games last season before I was over it completely.
This season looks like it might be different though (fingers crossed). I watched parts of the game today. There's definitely much more power on the team. The Greek girl, Beuchler, Lowe, and Carmona all looked like decent weapons. There was some sloppiness as well, but it was also the first game of the season. Here's to hoping that this season turns out decent and we don't miss the tournament again.

I wonder if RPI will consider this a neutral site. Not that location plays an actual role in the RPI (even though it should), it still is noted on the nitty gritty.

I wonder if RPI will consider this a neutral site. Not that location plays an actual role in the RPI (even though it should), it still is noted on the nitty gritty. It definitely will be considered a home match for one of these reasons: The following guidelines and examples are for regular-season and postseason contests. Team A is playing Team B. For results and the Rating Percentage Index (RPI), the game is considered a “home” game for Team A and an “away” game for Team B if the site of the contest: • is in the same city or a reasonable distance within the metropolitan area of Team A, and its opponent, Team B, is from outside the metro area. Example: The Butler women’s basketball team has scheduled a home game with Tennessee and wants to move to a larger arena to accommodate an expected larger crowd. The game is moved to Conseco Fieldhouse, which is still in the same metro area as Butler and just a few miles away. It still is considered Butler’s home game. • is a nearby temporary emergency site while the regular home site for Team A is being repaired. Example: Owensboro Sportscenter at Kentucky Wesleyan was damaged in a tornado. This forces Kentucky Wesleyan to move its basketball home game with Southern Indiana to a nearby high school gymnasium while the Sportscenter is being repaired. Since this game was played in a nearby temporary set-up, it is still considered a home game for Kentucky Wesleyan. However, if no area arenas or gymnasiums are available and the game is moved the 40 miles away to Southern Indiana’s home court, then the game is now considered a home game for Southern Indiana. • is a temporary “home” site while the regular home site for Team A is being renovated. Example: McGaw Hall on the Northwestern campus is being renovated, which forces the Northwestern basketball teams to move all their home games from Evanston to nearby Chicago and play in DePaul’s home arena. These games are considered home games for Northwestern since that is where the Wildcats are playing their scheduled home games during the renovation.
