I hope Maloney is ranked higher than Sauer. Ron Kordes tends to favorite Molly because she is going to play for his daughter. Kenzie is way better and hope Tawa sees this too. Hard to argue that Kenzie is way better IMHO. Both are oustanding and it is an absurdity of riches that they have played on the same club and High School team. Both won the outstanding liberos at the international competitions that they participated in representing the US (Kenzie on last year's Youth National Team in Thailand and Molly this year in Guatemala on the US Women's Junior Team). Molly was/is so good that Cat McCoy, Texas' phenomenal freshman libero, only played sparingly and as a DS at this year's Women's Junior tournament.
Again, they are both fantastic. Just disagree that one is WAY better than the other.

This is completely inappropriate, for several reasons: First, because it makes an assertion, without foundation, that one HIGH SCHOOL player is better than her teammate; and Second, because it suggests that Coach Kordes has demonstrated favoritism towards one in this process, which he decidedly has not.

Exciting times ahead! Love these lists by prep volleyball! Wonder who gets the pick as the nation's best prep recruit this year! Stanford (Hodson) or Nebraska (Foecke).... Maybe Texas if going based on raw athletic ability. I think it will be Foecke from Nebraska. Girl can play! Hodson for sure will be top 5. Haven't heard much from Beth Prince? How is she doing? She was once touted to be one of the best OHs of this class.

Hodson isn't better than/doesn't have more potential than Foecke. You were wrong about Frantti and you're wrong about this. Sorry buddy. Says the guy who said the only shot Robinson had at playing for the NT was as a libero? I've been one of the loudest proponents of putting Robinson on the left for Team USA for over a year. Not sure what you're talking about.

I think if you've already trained for months with the senior national team, you're kind of a de facto #1, right? Not making any judgments about should/would/could, etc. it just seems like the safe choice.

Not making any judgments about should/would/could, etc. it just seems like the safe choice. Just because she lives in California and was available to train doesn't mean that she's the top recruit in the country. There are other great players who aren't from southern California who don't have the luxury of online classes and the means to travel and live in Anaheim.

Not trying to argue that Sauer isn't an excellent libero, but Cat McCoy injured her ankle right before the tournament, so we don't know for sure who would have started Sorry, Queen Bey. Sauer's starting had nothing to do McCoy being hurt. She graded out higher throughout the process and had the prior international experience. Further, it's not as if Cat didn't find the court in Guatemala City. She played DS, behind the ridiculously consistent Sauer. In terms of best overall player in this class, it's Hodson in a landslide. Foecke's great and there are other fantastic players with overall game, but no one is as athletic with a higher volleyball IQ and metrics to match than Hodson. Stanford's landed the prize for all the right reasons and the fit for both (student athlete and school) seems perfect. It's absurd for anyone to suggest that the reason Haley was asked to train with the National Team was based on her proximity to the training center or that she had scholastic flexibility. Talent + heart + intellect + effort = invitation to help your country compete.

That's pretty close to where I thought Saunders would end up.

I'm guessing it's Castillo who ranked at 75 due to her injury.
