I'm going to head over to my local Peet's, pick up a scone and mocha, and contemplate whether Wis-scone-sin should be #1 ... looks delicious Pumpkin scone ... I just hope Wisky class doesn't turn into a Pumpkin

Surprised that Baylor recruit's not ranked higher. I thought she would be a definite top 10.

Which is the 6'3" Select girl #22 or #33? #33. RS too. Wonder why the heck Hugh wouldn't want her as a potential replacement for Adri...

Wow, and I thought Beth Prince (Illinois) and Savannah Rennie (Cal) are top 10 players on this class.
Stoked for Hodson, the only Pac12-bound player on the top 10 list. I don't think she will be #1 given the athleticism of other athletes such as Foecke, Smith and even Poulter. But I think she is the best all-around player on this class. Definitely a huge upgrade on that Stanford OH position for the next 4 years.

3 thoughts about tomorrow's top 10. 1) Wisconsin and Texas will be stacked with young talent (as everyone already knew). 2) I'm glad SSS got in there. Well deserved for the 2nd best setter in the country. 3) Damn...I wish Minnesota could've beaten out Purdue for Alexa Smith. She's going to be an awesome collegiate LS. Agreed 100% on Smith. Should have stayed west. UW, Oregon, and Arizona could have all used her next year. I was secretly hoping Smith could have gone elsewhere like Stanford or Washington. She is a very good OH, what a get by Purdue. Imagine Smith and Hodson on the left? Lucky Purdue!

Is the 2015 class considered stronger/weaker more/less talented than the 2014 or 2016 classes? Just wondering. IMHO, this class is less talented than the 2014 class. I don't see any Washingtons or Franttis on this class however Foecke (Nebraska) and Smith/Hodson can always make a case here. I just don't think this is a stronger class in general. I would take Poulter any day though than any setter on that 2014 class. And this class probably has better liberos than last year. As for 2016-2017, I am hearing a lot of strong players coming out of California and Texas. It will be a dogfight to recruit and sign them.

I don't think you can say Frantti was looked at in that light coming in, she was highly regarded, but not considered a Washington or Alhassan type talent. She's just been so good in matches thus far that its changed perception retroactively.

There are several people here who believed she was a Washington/Alhassan-type talent, and clearly the many coaches who make up the voting panel for Tawa's lists agreed enough to make her the #2 recruit. Anyone who saw Fusion play in 2013 could see that Frantti stood out even on a team that included two other Penn State commits.

I wonder if that's Baylor's highest ranked recruit ever . . . No, they got the #2 recruit back in 2000 can't recall her name. Taylor Barnes was top 20 but Vail looks like the 2nd highest. Baylor also got this year S. Fanning who is in the 60's. I've seen both Vail and Fanning play. Vail is a freak athlete but Fanning is a much better player and a physical player. Surprised Fanning wasn't top 20. They also got a kid from Willobrook VBC a 6-2 Lefty, Fritcher who should have been top 100 easy. Lot of good kids so it's got to be hard to make this list. Had to look it up, the #2 recruit was Stevie Nicholas. Heck of a player who blew her ACL I believe. Nice class Baylor has put together. Those middles with Malloy and Staiger is pretty good.

There were many people saying Simon Lee among others were better. Just because you (or I...you can check my old posts) thought Frantti was legit doesn't mean that was the overwhelming perception. In fact, a lot of discussion was that of her ranking being too high. It's the problem with people putting too much emphasis on a nebulous concept like "athleticism." Frantti isn't a freak athlete so people acted like she had reached her ceiling already.

Did Malloy end up losing a year of eligibility due to her intra-conference transfer? If so, that means she only gets one year (2015) to play with the incoming freshmen recruits.

OK, I re-read the prolog, and today is the announcement of 1-10. I think I need to stop checking, and then it will say "posted 4 hours ago..."

I think she got the year back so that would put her as a sophomore. Staiger is a freshman after getting injured last year. Both are hitting very well.
