Current weather in Palo Alto: 75 degrees, winds very light out of the East, not a cloud in the sky. Temp should go up this afternoon with an off shore flow. Probably around 4pm temp will be around 78 or 79. By game time at 6pm it will probably drop a degree or two.

Losing three major starters from last year I just hope Penn State can be more competitive than Nebraska was. Seeing how these freshmen are playing in their first road game for PSU, that will be a tall order in itself.
Last year PSU lost to Texas early and still had a good year, so maybe it will be dejavu.

if you have an iPhone and Apple TV, you might be able to push it from your phone to your tv. I splurged and bought the reserved tix. i'm a bit surprised its assigned seating. can anyone confirm? (although by definition, reserved seating would have assigned seats). Stanford matches always have reserved/assigned seating. There are general admission areas, too.

Now that Courtney is on the RS, I can't wait to see Courtney vs. Burgess matchup. Their careers have paralleled so much. Except for 3 things One has 2 Final Four appearances including a NC and the other has zero. One actually has a nice touch on her pass and the other one fights against the ball. One is a superior blocker and the other not even close. I want to discuss this post for a moment, with all the accolades Burgess is getting for her passing, is it me or does she side-arm a lot on serve/receive? I tried to isolate her play vs. Nebraska and I thought Howard was a better passer than her. In fact, she even got aced on a serve that she mishandled in the second set. Did anyone else notice this too? Is side-arm a normal thing? I thought you're supposed to always keep the ball in front of you when receiving a serve, right?

Also, it doesn't matter whether it's top 15 or top 100 team, you shouldn't be making excuse for a passer of her caliber. And it's not just the aced part, it was her serve/receive the entire match.

Not sure what injury she has, but Washington looked GOOD during warm-ups. Crushed everything.
