Pac 12 seems stronger overall this year, but Stanford has not really lost matches to teams they should beat the last couple of years, except perhaps Michigan in the Regional and even then you can make a case for the Wolverines being a stronger team at the time of the match. If USC continues to have passing problems the Cardinal could role, although last year USC proved to have match up superiority over Stanford in two wins. Since Washington and Stanford don't meet until the last week of the season both could have great records. My point is Stanford has not lost trap matches or to teams they really should beat; rather they have been beaten. And if SC is going to struggle, teams that have a betting chance of winning over Stanford comes down to Washington and Oregon, in my mind.
Even if they get their act together SC usually loses to an Arizona, ASU, Washington State last year...and Washington is playing a number of new players, so I expect an unexpected setback there, but they should be at or near the top overall.
When do Washington and Oregon meet? That would be a good contest to watch. I know the love is not swirling around the building.........
